chrissie and i discovered the sweetest antique shop in carpinteria, california. it’s full of wonderful treasures. make sure you have plenty of time to browse and hunt for the perfect piece.
i ended up with a painted vase from mexico {you can see it pictured below} which is sitting on my mantel as we speak. i also brought home a few vintage trophies and some antlers.
the disco ball wasn’t for sale–but how fun would that be?!
still on the lookout for a couple smaller globes and maybe a colorful croquet set. if you are driving on the 101 near santa barbara, make sure to stop by angel antiques. their located at 4846 carpinteria avenue. so fun!
are you currently hunting for a special treasure?
I purchased small cream antlers about six months ago from an antique shop, mounted them on a fabric base and hung them on our wall. I ♥ them!
how did you mount them? pics pleeeease!
Lisa, I remember one time you featured something about a camera bag that you use & love… I’ve looked everywhere on your blog & can’t find it 🙁 Would you be so kind to share that info again? Pretty please!
have two camera bags. one is turquoise and it’s from epiphanie. looove. the other is a very light gray and it’s from jo totes. yay!
We are going to be in Carpinteria this weekend! I’ll have to check it out.
Oh my, what a lovely find! I am always on the lookout for vintage dresses that I can wear to formals and church. I love shopping in my local thrift store–all proceeds go to a non-profit for women! (How neat?!)
yea!!! we got married in carp…love it!
I so needed this post about – oh…a month ago when I actually was traveling 101 through Santa Barbara! May I say, again, how amazing it is out where you live?! Just beautiful!
i NEED those suitcases!
as always, great photos.
Love Carpinteria. We stay at a friends beach house/condo there at least twice a year and I love strolling up and down Linden street 🙂 Do you know if “Porch” moved? Last time we were there it was closed or had moved. The space was empty. So sad. Love to eat at Sly’s too. You are so lucky to be close!
“Come see us at our NEW location on ‘The Lane” in Carpinteria…3823 Santa Claus …Lane. OPENING SOON !! We are super excited to have 4000 sq. ft. of outdoor garden space in addition to our beautiful new indoor digs!”
Unfortunately I live nowhere near Porch and have never been, but a friend tells me it’s wonderful. I “like” their facebook page and they posted the above in April to open April 8.
fun stuff, lisa!!
I’m looking for several things. First on the priority list is an old coffee table with pretty carved legs that I can repaint and distress.
YES! I am looking for cute, vintage-y cake stands for my baked goods and also frames like the kind you are always buying, Lisa. My fave thrift store in Olympia buys them at yard/estate sales and turns them into chalkboards and mirrors, and, whaaaa, they won’t set any aside for me to buy plain! So sad!
I love the vase you found and I vaguely remember that Fisher-Price wind up nursery rhyme player from way back somewhere. But I have a shelf in my basement right noe that has luggage lined up that look just like those!! How funny!!
Lisa, have you ever been to the northern peninsula of Michigan? Beautiful country–called God’s Country— but a LONG way from southern California!! You should consider it sometimes!!
