Celebrating Steve {St. Louis}

We had a wonderful time in St. Louis. I’m thankful all of us {even my mother in law} were able to travel back and be part of this special day. It will be a historical day in our family. Steve worked hard to accomplish this goal–and it needed to be celebrated!

We got to see some old friends.

Matthias made a new friend. It made his trip so fun!

There was lots of ceremonies and lunches and services and waiting. The boys were troopers! This pic cracked me up!

Steve’s professor was a hit with our boys. We got to have lunch with their family and it was a highlight of the trip.

Two stylish boys with bowties. Love!

We made a custom keychain for Steve. We’ve been teasing the boys that they’re going to have to start calling Steve ‘Dr. Daddy’

We explored downtown–the arch was beautiful!

We saw the courthouse where the historical Dred Scott case was held.

We had the BEST frozen custard. How good can it be, I thought? Pretty darn AMAZING! Yum!

The City museum was awesome. We loved it!

Steve, I am so incredibly proud of you. Thank you for working hard and showing our boys what it means to keep learning and to be a good father and husband. I love you!

  1. Congratulations to you all! We are so proud to count Steve among the ranks of our grads at Covenant. He did an amazing job, and I just turned in his final paperwork this morning, so he’s really, completely, kiss-it-goodbye-it’s-over done now!!!!

  2. Congratulations to your hubby! I know it was hard for my hubby to finish school with a family, but oh so worth it. What an exciting accomplishment and a fantastic trip. Need to travel a bit south to explore that city someday, have been meaning to for awhile now.

  3. Oh congrats to your hubby! That is wonderful! How neat that you were all able to attend!

On a side note, can I ask what jeans you are wearing in that pic of your family? They are just perfect with sandals for summer!

  4. Congratulations! I’m fairly new to your blog I guess ‘cuz I thought you lived in California…and Steve graduated from a university in St. Louis, Missouri? Not understanding that…but a Dr. Daddy is wonderful!!!

  5. Congratulations to you all! My husband is a second career pastor and graduated a year ago. It was a long, but rewarding, journey for our whole family. Blessings to all of you!

  6. Aww congrats to your husband!! Mine also graduated yesterday & I know he & I both are so relieved lol. Such a beautiful family, glad you all had a wonderful time 🙂

  7. Congratulations to your husband!! It looks to me like he graduated from Covenant. My husband is a PCA pastor just north of Oklahoma City. (Yes, we and our congregation are fine. Very close to one of our widows. She served breakfast cooked on her camp stove to her neighbors.) It amazes me how blogs that I “stumble” upon, have wider connections. Again, congratulations and blessings!

    1. Yes–it was Covenant! I’m so glad you are all safe. We are praying for you and your town. My heart hurts!

  8. Congrats to Dr. Daddy 🙂 May God continue to bless your family and ministry. My hubby took a break from school for church ministry, but we’re ready to gear back up for his dissertation in the fall. I think i’m more ready than he is for graduation. haha. i love how you document with pictures and keep it so simple, it encourages me to do the same. 🙂 God bless you!

  9. Wow. As I get ready for my son’s high school graduation, I was brought to tears with the picture of Steve and (I am assuming) his mother. So wonderful to see – but not surprised – that the incredible love and joy a mother feels for her son never ends.

  10. This post had me teary and so proud to call St. Louis home! Thanks for sharing our awesome city with the world. And, I am so, so glad you went to Ted Drewes. I will take credit since I was the first to suggest it on IG! You can pay me back with free jewelry. Congrats to your husband.
PS. We are at the beach for a week and I realized when I got here that over 50% of the jewelry I packed was from your shop. Pretty cool!

  11. Congratulations Steve! Love the key chain. I’m hoping to graduate in December – and during the long haul joked with my girls that I will only respond to Dr Mum once finished (they were 9 months and 2 years when I started ).
