What Will Sunset Be Like In 100 Years?

We went camping with friends earlier this week. We’ve done this every year for the last six years. We borrow a tent trailer from our very generous friends and this year we camped at Sunset Beach in Watsonville {near Santa Cruz, CA}. These are the guys Steve graduated from high school with {and their families}. Miraculously, the kids get along great and the wives are some of my closest friends. It’s pretty awesome.

Camping is a mixed bag for us. David is super tricky because he has a hard time sleeping away from home and he wants to wander and explore. Mixing those things in with a campground {lots of people trying to sleep, hot stoves, campfires, and wide open spaces} it means that we have to watch him every second. So camping isn’t relaxing for us, but it’s tons of fun. And even more, David slept like a CHAMP this year. Getting a good night’s sleep makes the days so much easier.

I have lots of pics to share, ready or not!camping sunset beach 2015-01 camping sunset beach 2015-02 camping sunset beach 2015-03 camping sunset beach 2015-04 camping sunset beach 2015-05 camping sunset beach 2015-06 camping sunset beach 2015-07 camping sunset beach 2015-08 camping sunset beach 2015-09 camping sunset beach 2015-10 camping sunset beach 2015-11 camping sunset beach 2015-12 camping sunset beach 2015-13 camping sunset beach 2015-14 camping sunset beach 2015-15 camping sunset beach 2015-16 camping sunset beach 2015-17 camping sunset beach 2015-18 camping sunset beach 2015-19 camping sunset beach 2015-20 camping sunset beach 2015-21 camping sunset beach 2015-22 camping sunset beach 2015-23 camping sunset beach 2015-24 camping sunset beach 2015-25 camping sunset beach 2015-26 camping sunset beach 2015-27 camping sunset beach 2015-28 camping sunset beach 2015-29 camping sunset beach 2015-30 camping sunset beach 2015-31 camping sunset beach 2015-32 camping sunset beach 2015-33 camping sunset beach 2015-34

The kids are getting so big! I love watching these kids grow up together and collecting memories they’ll treasure forever. This is the stuff of childhood summers!

Do you like camping? What are your favorite spots? Do you tent camp or use a trailer?

  1. I purchased a necklace today-I finally have found my little family in life after some years of sadness-my boyfriend “Cory” which I am hoping someday will be my husband and my new pup “Tank”(the letters on the pendants)I am very excited to receive it-I don’t ever wear necklaces but recently wanted one when I saw your designs-I am an art teacher in NY-I love love your designs-inspires me to maybe do my own thing someday outside of teaching-thank you!!!

  2. Looks like a fun time! Beautiful pictures…the one of your family on the beach should be a canvas or Christmas card photo; it’s precious! Thanks for sharing!

  3. We started out camping in a tent. We had 4 children, ages 8 to 1 year. After our first trip, from WV to Colorado, Texas, etc, we decided to get a tent top camper. Our kids really liked camping. After a few years in the tent top camper we bought a used hard top camper. We have camped all the way from NC’s Outer Banks to Neveda and Utah.
