Remember way back when we announced the reality TV show? Although I haven’t talked about much in this space, the wheels are still turning. And there has been some exciting changes, too! If you didn’t hear the original announcement, you can see my blog post here.
Steve and I started thinking, are we ready for a reality TV show? Most of what we see on reality TV is a train wreck, and that scares us! We chatted with Storehouse Media {our production company} about our concerns–and they were so reassuring. Actually they have been positive and reassuring every step of the way. We all put our heads together and decided maybe instead of focusing on one family, it would be better to have a few families–to show how we intersect and how each of us are finding beauty in brokenness.
I’m excited to tell that, instead of the show being based only around the Leonard family, it will be about Dee Kasberger and her family {you probably know her from Red Letter Words} and Holley Gerth and her family {she started (in)courage and has authored some amazing books}. These are women I not only respect and admire, they are real life friends that I trust and love to spend time with. How awesome is that?
Our production company is meeting with networks to see if there’s a spot for our show. These things take time, and in the process we’re waiting patiently and we’re confident that whatever happens will be amazing!
Here is the trailer that our production company will be pitching to networks. It’s not fancy, it’s real. It’s not perfect, but it’s honest. And hopefully it will encourage YOU. Click on the image below to see the trailer.
Sending love from Manila, Philippines! I hope this show gets picked up so that your family may inspire more people! I posted about it here (http://manilamommy.com/reality-show-hope-picked/)
Best of luck to you and your family!
Think long and hard on this one, Lisa. If you cherish your privacy….
Thank you Lynn. We are still very much in process and thinking and praying. xx
Hi Lisa- Would love to see your show come to fruition. Its always interesting to me to see other families dealing with special needs kiddos…our daughter, Suzannah, has a very rare syndrome called Rubenstein-Taybi. Life at our house is always an adventure! But a joyful one, for the most part. She is loving and funny and sometimes a handful. The last of our four children, she will be home with us forever. I, too, worry about the future for her. I know what you’re going through about this issue. I just keep praying and trusting that God has a plan…his timing is always perfect. Will be watching for your show!!! Susan
How fun!! I’m so excited about this!!

Hello,
I’m not usually into reality tv, but I think this type of show would be really inspiring!
I also want to say, I love the statement at the end of the trailer “Embracing the unexpected and designing a life of joy”. Words to live by!
I myself face pretty severe health challenges and am always trying to balance my family life (I have an amazing 3 year old son and wondeful husband), work full time and also try to nourish my creative side (I also make jewelry and in general a crafty person). Balance is SO HARD, I stuggle with it everday! You and and your family are truly an ispiration and I am so moved by your blog.
Thank you for sharing your life with us and inpiring me everday!
Here’s to finding beauty in the brockeness!
Colleen (Kent, WA)
Thanks for sharing a piece of your story Colleen and for your kind words! Sending you a big hug. xx
Thanks Lisa!!
A-mazing!!! Best wishes in this venture!
Enjoyed the trailer very much and found it so refreshing to see a “normal” family (whatever that is) behind the scenes, sharing struglles, joys and faith. Best of luck!!
Lisa, I really enjoy your blog and would love to watch your show. Your story is so inspiring. We need more God-centred families on tv living lives consecrated to Him. My prayer for you is that God places the right opportunities and the right people in your path. God Bless, keeping doing what you do!
Thank you for your prayer, Annie! xo
Wow, pretty incredible to see a behind the scenes look at your amazing family. Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome Diana! xo
How exciting, Lisa! I think it’s awesome that your real life friends would be on the show, too.
I would love to see your show happen. I’m a Pastor’s wife in Central California and love buying your jewelry, seeing your pictures and am encouraged by your blog. I’ve been struggling with MS for over 20 years and it has recently begun to progress. I also have had a deep loss in my life. You have been a source of encouragement to me. May our Lord bless you and your lovely family and all you do.
Thank you for sharing a bit of your journey Pam. Hugs to you. xx
oh my goodness… what an exciting opportunity to share your story! I would most definitely tune in!
