The response to the nativity has been so overwhelming. You guys are amazing! It went out of stock last week and we’ve been working hard to bring it back.I know that was frustrating for some of you and I apologize.
This project started because I wanted to create a keepsake for each of my nieces and nephews. As it came together, I knew I had to share it with you too! Each nativity comes with a story booklet. The pic above is my son, Matthias, reading the booklet to my nephew, Brandon. My heart completely melted!
Growing up, the nativity was a big part of our Christmas every year. I want this nativity to become a keepsake that your kids can share with their kids. Each piece is hand-molded, cast in fine pewter and hand-polished. There are 14 hand-crafted pieces along with a stable made from california wine barrels. Simply beautiful and full of meaning.
It’s the perfect way to bring the true heart of Christmas in to your holiday season.
My favorite part of Christmas has changed after I turned 60. I don’t want physical gifts…I want my family “treasures”…listening to every moment that creates a memory, decorating our tree SLOWLY and reflecting on the memory of each ornament & being thankful for each one (all of my ornaments are family keepsakes from my great grandparents thru’ current grandchildren!), really reflecting on meaning of the words to the Christmas Carols, keeping things simple so we don’t miss a moment because we are in the kitchen cleaning up, playing games and laughing hard until we cry. Remembering that this is about Jesus Christ and God loving us so much to send Him to us. Every year brings change to our family…we need to cherish every moment we have.

Christmas eve services in the little country church I grew up in. We see old friends and family back for the holiday and I always start to tear up when we light the candles, turn off the lights and sing Silent Night. It is such a meaningful way to worship!

My favorite part of Christmas is just staying in pajamas all day and hanging out as a family. We have our big extended family dinner on Christmas eve so that Christmas day we can just have leftovers and do nothing. My favorite day of the year!

On Christmas Eve, my family loves to go to church for the candlelight service and then go home to open one present – always new PJs! On Christmas morning, the kids take an obligatory photo on the staircase (in their new PJs), and then they race to the Christmas tree to find the “pickle” ornament. Apparently this is an old (German?) tradition. We have enjoyed both of these traditions since the kids were little. Your nativity is adorable! I’d love to add it to our family traditions!
My family does a huge “Secret Santa” exchange for our Three Wise Men celebration (In Spanish tradition, on January 6 the Three Wise Men bring gifts to the kids just like they brought gold, myrrh and frankincense to Jesus) We draw names on Christmas Day and exchange gifts on January 6. Love it!
I just like being among our extended family since we’re not together much during the year. And while we’re unwrapping gifts, inevitably a wrapping paper “snowball fight” ensues!

My favorite part is having the children act out Luke 2 every year.
Every Christmas Eve, on the way home from church, there are two quiet, but super excited, little girls in the back seat. During our ride home, in between singing Christmas Hymns, we talk about our love for each other, our love for family and our love of Jesus. It is a tradition that simply happened…it is my favorite time of the year!!

My favorite part of the Christmas season is when our grown children and their families come home, usually a few days after Christmas Day. I love the laughter and love that fills our home! The stress of the holiday is over, and we can just enjoy each other’s company!

I love decorating for Christmas! Our house feels like a warm hug when the tree is up and there are cozy winter touches sprinkled throughout the house.
We keep an Advent wreath on our dinner table. Every night we read Advent devotions and light the candles. We also line the driveway with luminaries on Christmas Eve. These were traditions I carried with me from my family growing up, so it’s especially meaningful to me that I’m sharing them with my own children now.

This nativity is too beautiful to not try for. My favorite tradition is that my family spends Christmas at our cabin and one year we forgot the stockings so we put out our snowboots for Santa to fill and we’ve been doing it ever since!
We have a big family breakfast at my moms house on Christmas Morning before we unwrap gifts. I love getting up early and hauling the kids over there in our jammies to do that.

Another comment! My mom makes homemade nightgowns for my daughters and pj pants for my son…they unwrap them on Christmas eve and they always love these handmade treasures, made from warm flannel. I love them too because they remind me of when I was little and she did the same for my brother and two sisters and me!

I also love our tradition of sliding on the hill outside then lying under the Christmas tree with mugs of hot chocolate…and candy canes as stir-sticks! The first time we did this was on the day after my fourth baby was born; we kept our older three home from school and they were so thrilled. I have a picture in my mind of that bundle in my arms and seeing the rosy cheeks and happy faces of my older children as they gazed up into the Christmas tree’s branches!

My friends and I each create 5×5 handmade gifts; before December, we gather to wrap all 25 items, and we all go home with a basket of 25 different little gifts for our children to open over the 25 days of Advent. Over the years, our Christmas trees have become a record of this beautiful tradition of giving handmade gifts. Our children know that a circle of loving mamas have made each item with love and care for them. It warms my heart year after year!

My favourite tradition is watching our five children open their gifts on Christmas morning. We have a life size statue of the Christ Child who is placed under our tree on Christmas Eve in a wicker basket filled with straw. We all gather round and sing, “O Come All Ye Faithful” and share a beautiful moment worshiping our sweet Saviour together.

As much as I love some of the little traditions we’ve started as a family and the traditions we still enjoy with our extended families, my favorite part of Christmas is really just BEING together and sitting down on the couch at night telling the kids the story of the first Christmas. There’s something so magical in seeing your kids’ faces light up when they hear about the real nativity.

One of my family’s favorite traditions is going to “The Drive Through Nativity”. Every year this event is hosted by a local church complete with live actors and animals. We have been going since my kids were little and now they are teenagers! We have many fond memories and I love that this tradition is still enjoyed by our family 🙂
My favorite part of the holiday season is the pure joy that is so present during this time of year. I love the smiles, the generosity, the celebration. I have come to learn as Ive grown older to truly appreciate the time with family and why we celebrate Christmas, that being the birth of Jesus Christ our savior! Decorating the tree. We’ve been collecting ornaments with meaning for 13 years. When we decorate the tree, it tells the story of Christ’s love and of our life. Our children (6 &8) are getting so they know who each ornament came from and the story behind it.
Just being able to spend time with family!!!!!!! Many of our traditions began so many years ago when the kids were tiny but we still roll them out every year. Setting up the Nativity and reading a Christmas story was a big favorite and we still do it at least once during the holiday season even though everyone is nearing 30!!!!!

There are so many wonderful Christmas traditions…but I’d have to reading with my kids. I have collected many Christmastime picture books that I get out and put in a big basket and we read through them, at night before bed, or snuggling together on weekend mornings. Our favorites are the “Story of the Christmas Tree, Candy Cane,” etc. books. And our reading wouldn’t be complete without reading the story of Jesus’ birth in the Bible, which is my husband’s specialty. 🙂

On the Sunday before Christmas we have a dinner like they would have had at the time of Christ’s birth (fish bread olives) sit on sheets and eat with our hands, we watch video our church put out about the birth of Christ and listen to spiritual music by the fire and enjoy a non commercial Christmas day.

My favorite tradition is sharing one of the old Christmas movies with my kids on Christmas Eve night like White Christmas or The Bishops Wife.
With my husbands extended family we have sharing time- we go around the room and share what the Lord has taught us or what he’s done for us the past year. Then we all take communion together. It’s the best.

Our favorite tradition is to watch the live Nativity here in our town put on by several churches. It’s all outside and people who come to watch it stand while it’s going on. It’s truly an amazing thing!

My girls love to set up the nativity use and play with them the whole season. I often come in to find All the pieces huddled around the baby Jesus. “That’s what I would be looking at” they say. Kids at Christmas, helps keep us all focused on what really matters. The love of God.

A church in our town has a drive through nativity and it is breath taking! The wait can be hours some nights. So our tradition is the kids get ready for bed but instead of going to bed we go pick up a pizza, I bring glass bottled sodas, and eat dinner while we wait to enter the drive through nativity. Once we make it to the gate we roll the windows down in the freezing cold and slowly drive through the nativity. There are live animals everywhere, people walking and portraying the streets of Jerusalem, and last you come upon baby Jesus and his parents. This church does the most amazing job and it brings it back to the core every December. My children get so excited to go and see this every year! It is almost here!

The weekend before Christmas we spend the whole weekend with my husbands family. We have wonderful traditions during the time spent together. From gift game, and watching each person unwrap every trinket from there stocking. Eating and talking. It is a special time.
I love when all our family is able to get together. I love singing Christmas carols together, attending Christmas eve services together, laughing together, and I love that a little baby was sent into this world to live and die for me!

My favorite Christmas celebration is on Christmas Eve. All of my family (all 33 of us) get together and read through the story of Christ’s birth. We sing hymns and it is a great reminder of what Christmas is really about. During the season, we also display more prominently one of my favorite statues – Santa kneeling before the manger. I would love to add your nativity set to my family traditions.

I love all things Christmas! For the last 3 years our family has participated in helping set up for a community Christmas dinner for the less fortunate families in our community. watching my 11 year old work hard on behalf of others and really understand what he was doing last year was such a proud moment for me !
I love the memory of playing with the nativity at my grandmother’s house and acting it out with my sister and cousin.
My favorite part of my family Christmas is opening gifts on Christmas morning as a small family before we drive south for the big extended family Christmas. It was a special time we had together.
We have new family traditions now that we have grandchildren. Give each child a big Santa bag with their gifts inside. Love seeing their faces as they dig each gift from their bags. Happy times with family!
the best moment in our Christmas celebration is when all the extended family gets together to bless the world. My dad hands out magazines the provides livestock in third world countries, or medical supplies, or food to impoverished nations. We are each given $250 to choose how to bless others. It is an amazing way to give the gift of love at Christmas

I think you go through stages of what you favourite part of Xmas is during your life, when your younger its going out with friends having a laugh and a drink but now I have young kids its wrapping the presents on Xmas eve while watching Home alone with a glass of red wine and then watching them on Xmas morning.

I grew up making cookies with my mom. I always loved that time and can’t wait till my daughter is old enough to enjoy it too.
I grew up in the military, moving every couple of years. Christmas felt the most like home to me and our big family meal on Christmas day is my favorite part, even now as a wife and mom.
My favorite tradition is setting up our Jessie Tree and putting an ornament on it every day of Advent. After advent during the true season or Christmas we use the same tree of our set of 12 days of Christmas ornaments. I love this beautiful nativity! Stunning!!

I live away from my family most of the year, but usually make it home for every other Christmas. Now that my brother and sister have families of their own, Christmas eve is usually pretty quiet for my parents as the grandkids visit their other grandparents. So the years I’m home, I live spending Christmas eve with them all by myself. We do final chrostmas day prep and enjoy a meal together 🙂 christmas day brings all the familyand fun…so I enjoy this day before!
My favorite part is listening to my kids fuss about who gets to put on the star. They are 14 and 20!

My favorite part of Christmas when I was a child was that no matter how early, how many presents, or how young I was my mom and dad stopped before anyone was allowed to open presents and my dad read the Christmas story and prayed over each of us thanking God for the year we have had, and what was to come! My parents were awesome at always reminding us why Christmas was Christmas, because of Jesus! I am happy to give this same tradition to my children, especially moving overseas to live and work in China, we have had amazing opportunities to share this tradition with Chinese friends and teachers!

We love reading Jotham’s Journey, Tabitha’s Travels, or Batholemews Passage. We choose one book and read the next book or start the series over each. My kids look forward to it every year.
Favorite Christmas tradition – we have an annual “happy birthday, Jesus” party for our friends and their kids. great fellowship, we read the Christmas story, sing a few songs and the kids love singing happy birthday!
My favorite part is attending Christmas Eve service, where we hear the story of Jesus’ birth again and sing carols with the church.
My favorite part about Christmas is giving to others. My family started the tradition of serving Christmas dinner to the homeless and donating presents, coats, blankets, food, etc…We sometimes pack up goodies, dollar bills, and travel mugs with coffee or cocoa and pass them out to the homeless hanging about downtown. It just doesn’t seem like Christmas without this aspect. I hope to carry on the tradition to my little one.

Growing up I didn’t attend church. So as I came into adulthood, was married and started a family, finding a church home was imperative to my husband and me. He had grown up in the faith and knew the “ins and outs” of church services. I, however, got to experience it all for the first time. I had been a believer for years, but that was the extent of it. I had no idea what it truly meant to follow Christ.
It wasn’t until after I decided to be baptized that we threw our heart and soul into becoming part of that church body. It was the best decision we’d ever made. Fast forward seven years later and our marriage and lifestyle don’t even look the same.
It was at this church that I first experienced a candlelight Christmas Eve service. I can’t even tell you how special that is for me and how thrilled I am to have that be a part of our Christmas traditions. Each year I sit in that service, with faces all aglow from the soft light of the candles, and I am grateful for the gift of a King Who rescued me from a place that I honestly never even knew existed until I could experience the full magnitude of this thing called “grace.”
I wouldn’t trade that candle light service for anything. It’s just THAT special to me.
We love playing hide and seek among the trees at the nearby Christmas tree farm. The kids love to jump out and surprise us and I love that Christmas tree smell.

There is something special in the air at Christmas time. Even all the commercialisation and busyness cannot deminish it. I love going to mass on Christmas Eve. It was something I did as a child that symbolised that Santa was close, and I love replicating this with my children.
Sitting by the fire at night, tree lit, snuggling, and thanking God for ALL His good gifts.
I love baking with my Mom. WE always make chocolate crinkle cookies with red food coloring since that it how my Nana and I accidentally made them one year long ago!
Christmas Eve mass….the songs we sing at church are beautiful!
I love that each year the menu and location may change, but the fact that we are together does not.
Love the nativity set, by the way! It is sweet and glorious – at the same time.
My children, their spouses and my grandson have a wonderful, warm, laughter-filled Christmas Eve supper complete with Christmas crackers and gift opening. Then things quiet down, we pile into cars and head down tbe road to midnight Mass. It’s quiet and peaceful and as my grandson snuggles in my lap and falls asleep I get a glimpse into the joy Mary felt on that midnight so blessed and so long ago.
Spending time with family and remembering the real reason for the season…the birth of our Savior! 🙂

My favorite tradition is the time we spent every year as our five children were growing up gathered in our Jammie’s in front of our fireplace reading one of Arnold Ytreetide’s amazing devotional stories that led us to bow before our Lord’s throne together.
Right up with that was the last Christmas that we had with my husband where his request for a gift was that each of us memorize a chapter of Scripture. We each spoke it to him on Christmas morning. A holy moment for sure!
Since my daughter was tiny, we would come home from Christmas Eve Service and read the Christmas story from the bible as my daughter would put the baby Jesus in my Mom’s nativity scene. Wonderful memories.
My favorite part of our celebrations is driving through the falls lit up with Christmas lights. Admiring the beautiful land in which we live!
We do “names of Jesus” ornaments. Every day in December we learn about one of Jesus’ names. We read the verse, talk about the meaning of the name, and hang the ornament with that name (which we made) on the tree. 🙂
I love decorating the tree and baking cookies with the kids.
My favorite Christmas tradition is spending time with my husband’s family making homemade Christmas cookies and seeing who can decorate the most elaborate and creative cookie with colored frosting and sprinkles. Then we get to sit down and eat one of our creations.

I love nativities too and part of our tradition is me opening the ones we have gathered around the world and sharing the story of its origin with my children.

Every year we do a homemade advent calendar. I create a Christmas-themed activity for us all to participate in each day, and the kids are always thrilled to turn the number over to see what that day’s activity will be (one day included opening and putting last year’s ornament, which was from your 2013 collection, on our tree!). Another favorite on the calendar is shopping for gifts for the children from our “angel tree” at church.

My children are 10 1/2 and 13 and starting December 1st we start to read all our Christmas story books from when they were little. I put them in storage come Dec 26th so it’s always fun and a little blast from the past 🙂
Our favorite park is reading the Christmas story on Christmas morning before we open presents. Next would be our fondue dinner.
My family does a Christmas Eve dinner every year. Even though my brother and I and are spouses are all in our 30s, we all get together and my mom has themed hats and we all wear them. It’s fun, hilarious and sometimes embarrassing! Elf ears, tinsel hats, snowball antlers- every year is fun and a surprise until we all show up!
My husband is a worship pastor on a church staff so our social calendar during the Christmas season tends to be pretty packed! But after our Christmas Eve service is over, we know it’s time to settle into the still, quiet part of Christmas with just our kids – we read the Christmas story, sing, light candles, and remember Jesus…
Jesus is the only reason for the season . When my sons were young I decided that the whole gift giving thing was getting out of control, so I decided to give each boy 3 gifts, because Jesus got 3 gifts from the wisemen. It really helped to keep the focus on Christ.

We always put the Christmas tree up on my birthday (Dec. 2) and fire up the Christmas music. And all December we read one of Arnold Ytreeide storybooks for advent. Last year we started the tradition of four gifts for Christmas: something you want, something you need, something to wear, something to read. It was the best Christmas yet. Our kids really appreciated their gifts like never before. (I love Christmas too!)

Ooo, my favorite part of Christmas is when we come down the stairs and open the stockings first. It builds anticipation for the presents under the tree and the stockings hold the best sleeper gifts! I’ve got my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed hoping and praying for this beautiful Nativity!

My favorite is counting down to Christmas. As kids we did it with a countdown and little boxes (advent style). Some days had a little piece of candy, others had a fun activity. It was something we always looked forward to!

My favorite part of Christmas celebrations that morning is drinking hot chocolate or cider while the kids all dig in to their stockings. It’s festive and relaxing all at the same time! We have a wooden nativity that the kiddos set up & can play with- it’d be really special to have a great quality one that could become an heirloom piece as well.
I love our advent calendar, because each day has a different holiday activity for us (making cookies, doing something kind for others, and lots more).

Every year since I can remember. Locals and tourists alike visit this magnificent display-visiting, sharing, remembering-from Thanksgiving through Christmas. It has become an Outer Banks tradition-even being featured on the Today Show one year. It is a truly special tradition for our family and our community to remember that relationship and fellowship is at the core of this holiday season.
My favorite part of celebrating Christmas is having the kids act out the Nativity on Christmas Eve. There is always lots of silliness as memories are created.
My favorite thing is getting out my nativities and watching my kids carefully handle them or play with the ones that can be played with. I just love Christmas and celebrating the real reason for the season. This nativity is beautiful. I would love to add it to my collection. Thank you for a chance to win. xo

Everything tradition when it comes to Christmas! The candlelight service, the music, cards and food. Time with family and parties with friends. Our stockings with an apple, orange, and 5 pennies. My Mom got that in her stocking, I got it on mine, and my kids now get it in theirs!
I love building traditions with my kids. We read aloud daily at Christmas, advent calendars, and play…..my girl is a December 22nd birthday and nativity scenes fit here.

One of our christmas traditions is driving up to the mountains to cut our christmas tree. A new tradition for our family is “Truth in the Tinsel”
I love decorating for Christmas. Getting out decorations and recalling all the memories from them over the years. I love going to church on Christmas Eve for the candlelight service. My grandfather died on Christmas day so it is always bittersweet.
Love reading Christmas books with my boys each night before bed. After Christmas each year, I wrap them in Christmas wrapping paper and the next year, each night of Advent, we unwrap a “new” one to enjoy together.
My favorite part of Christmas is going to Christmas Eve service with my family and going out for sushi afterwards! We are creating our own traditions together and loving every year more!

My husbands family has the grandchildren act out the Christmas Story…it’s the sweetest, most wonderful reminder of the reason why we celebrate!
My favorite part is throwing Jesus a birthday party with the kids. We decorate the kitchen with birthday supplies/decorations and bake a cake, they get to blow out the candles after we sing happy birthday to Jesus.

Each year i purchase an ornament for each of my boys signifying a milestone reached that year our a favorite hobby or thing. We also purchase an ornament as a family signifying the main event of that year.

we do a birthday cake (often coffee cake) for Jesus by the nativity before anything else on Christmas. This last year we added in giving gifts to Jesus, we did gifts through Samaritans purse like fruit trees, chickens, etc. it was a neat way to show our kids that Christmas is about Jesus.

We collect nativity scenes. We started buying one each year, but a few years back we stopped. We have the Little People, the Veggie Tales, Playmobil, a carved wood one, a white ceramic one, one my dad made, one I made…and more. I don’t have a lot of other Christmas decorations. Just these. The kids each get to set one up in their rooms. It’s our favorite part of Christmas.
On Christmas Eve we would organize a treasure hunt with clues that lead the kids from one end of the house to another until they each found a gift: a new pair of Christmas pajamas for that night and the next morning.
Every ornament on our tree has a special memory and putting that up on Thanksgiving Day is something that reminds us of all the good things throughout the Christmas season.

Our favorite Christmas tradition is loading up in the car with our two daughters, stopping for some hot chocolate, then driving around looking at Christmas lights!! We look forward to it every year !
My favorite part of Christmas is brunch in the morning. We kept the tradition from when we were little. My sisters both come to my house in Ohio from NYC. We get up super early to open presents together and then, we make mimosas while preparing breakfast. MONKEY BREAD! It’s the only time of the year we eat it! We also make omelets and sausage. We did this every year growing up (not Mimosas!) Can’t wait to have them home again this year, haven’t seen them since March.

The past several years we have been a part of the living nativity at church. It’s been such a blessing to share the Christmas story in this way. Also the kids love giving shoebox gifts through operation Christmas child.

We have The Advent Book, and I love that my kids look forward to reading one new page of the Christmas story from it each night and the sing Christmas carols by candlelight
My favorite part of Christmas is visiting family. I lived going to see my grandparents as a kid on Christmas, and now I get to take my kids to visit them as well. I live that my grandparents are still around so my kids can have the same fun traditions.

Our family tradition is picking out an ornament to represent the year. It is always a great reflection as we put them up year after year!
My grandmother recently passed away and my fondest memory is of her nativity scene, unfortunately I did not receive the nativity scene upon her passing but want to keep this tradition alive with my children and have been searching for one online for months with no luck. Your set is gorgeous and could be passed down for generations, creating new memories for my children and their children to come.

My favourite part of holidays is doing stockings and gifts at home early in the morning with mugs of coffee and hot chocolate, and then packing up in the car and heading across town to my parents’ house to celebrate Jesus’ birth with the whole family! Oh my, we have sooo many amazing traditions we cherish! Starting December first we take out our ornament that tells the story of Jesus’ birth and listen to a new excerpt every day, I bake cookies with the kids, we “elf” someone new each year (secretly leave treats and special messages for them until we reveal ourselves on Christmas Eve), we cut down our Christmas tree at our favourite farm and cover it in our homemade and cherished ornaments, we put up my village that my dad purchased for me, one at a time each year until his passing 4 years ago, we visit with family and friends, and we so gratefully count our many blessings.

I am from NZ, but now live in the UK. As a young adult my favourite tradition was that our whole family (5 siblings) got together with our Mum and Nan for Christmas day, and all the kids too. We would play beach volleyball in the afternoon, after a morning church service, and big lunch. Then in the afternoon we played cards and by late afternoon we were worn out and would watch a family movie together – it was wonderful.
With my own kids, I love letting them open presents slowly and then we spend lots of time together playing with them before moving on to the next. It really helps my boys not just be interested in ‘what did i get?’

This nativity has totally captured my heart! My favorite part of the holidays is that I get to take a couple weeks of vacation and simply enjoy my family. The summer and fall months are very hectic for us so when it comes to the holidays it’s a time for us to relax and regroup and reconnect as a family. Love it!
when I was a kid, my favorite part of christmas was going to midnight mass with my grandma. Now that I’m a mom with young children, I love to celebrate advent and use the whole month of December to learn about and celebrate the birth of Christ.
I love our Christmas Eve service at church. I also really like our Jesse Tree devotional and ornaments that we do leading up to Christmas. Keeps the focus on Jesus in a way that is easy for my kids to understand!

I try to give little gifts to friends anonymously each day of December until Christmas.
So many traditions, but one of my favorites as a mom has been to have a birthday cake for Jesus (often because we celebrate early in the morning to start the day off right it is coffee cake or a pan of cinnamon rolls) – we all sing “Happy Birthday to Jesus” and the kids enjoy blowing out the candles.

My favorite Christmas tradition is having a big Christmas Day brunch with my family. After we open all of our gifts on Christmas morning, we pitch in together and make a huge brunch! We have done this since we were children and I intend on continuing the tradition with my own family. It’s a sweet time for all of us.
I look forward to celebrating the birth of our Savior with family, as well as time spent with family over a delicious meal and good conversation.
Our family traditions include reading the Bible on Cheistmas morning and then eating a big breakfast with grandparents and other family.
My favorite part of our family Christmas celebration is just getting to chill out together. We’re either seeing my parents (whom we only get to see once or twice a year) or my husband’s family (whom we get to see a little more frequently, but still love dearly) – it’s a special time together. 🙂

Oh Christmas, nothing beats it. It’s our Savior’s birth celebration, and nothing beats the true warmth I feel during this season. My favorite time is looking at the lights of the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve with no other lights on or distractions. It’s a beautiful moment of reflection to meditate and count blessings. Sharing this time with my family is a must do tradition.

I love that we’ve reserved Christmas morning to celebrate as a family in our home. While we love to visit with the family later, it gets so chaotic that it’s nice to have that time together to create our own traditions.
We live in the Phoenix area, so being able to get outside and throw the football around, and be the spot all the family wants to be, is a wonderful time…and the kid’s Christmas Service at church is always a wonderful moment!
My very favorite part of Christmas is being able to know, love, and celebrate Jesus and His birth! The second part is celebrating Christmas with my husband, our four children, and our five grandsons. I am always thankful and filled with joy when we are all together:-) Life is a gift and I enjoy each and every single day! Glory to God!

My favorite part of my families christmas celebration is seeing the magical look of wander on my kids faces when they go to bed christmas eve and wake up on christmas morning. They are ages 2 and 4. So the innocence of it all is still there.
I love our Advent calendars that my boys open throughout the Advent season as we prepare for Christmas.
We wrap our big Nativity’s Baby Jesus up and put him under the tree. He is the first present the kids open on Christmas morning.

Christmas Eve we have dinner and do presents and a candlelight service with extended family, and it has always been my favorite tradition. Then on Christmas Day, we can just enjoy the day with our kids and it’s simple and relaxing!

We love reading the story of the Jesse Tree and all the Bible stories that trace Jesus lineage from Abraham.
Every year we go to the Christmas Eve service at church, then we eat dinner at In-n-Out and drive through neighborhoods looking at all the beautiful Christmas decorations. After that, we go home and each open a new pair of Christmas pajamas. It’s such a fun tradition that brings us together even more than opening gifts on Christmas morning.

My favorite part of Christmas has changed, as my family has evolved. As a child, I loved cutting down the tree and decorating it with my parents and siblings. Now that I have a young family of my own we are trying to create our own traditions, one being cutting down our own tree together. Last year we read an Advent story “Charlie & Noel” each day of Advent. I hope to do that again and emphasize the meaning of the season and not the gifts. My newborn was named after Saint Lucy so I’d like to celebrate her feast day this year during Advent. The gift of family is so amazing, especially during the Christmas season as we reflect on the Holy Family!!

So many wonderful traditions in our family, both small (like my husband saying that it’s not properly Christmas until he’s listened to this one particular Christmas song!) and large (like not opening gifts until after the lunch AND the washing up!), and we have many that have come down through the generations which is such a blessing and a joy as we pass them on ourselves. I think the best part for me is not so much the traditions in themselves, but in using them to make a really wonderful family day for my kids and anyone else who is with us.
Favorite christmas tradition is waking up at 5am to open presents. And of course the christmas shopping the day after christmas.

Cutting down a Christmas tree. We go with my parents and siblings and each family cuts down a tree for their household but we all search together than we go back to my parents house and drink hot chocolate. It’s great fun and makes seeing everyone’s tree decorated so much more special!

My sister and I would make candy with our Grandma. She has been gone for a few years but we have kept the tradition alive and are now passing it on to our children.
We always have fun decorating together and talking through the symbolism or memories in our decoration pieces. Thanks…this is such beautiful, unique set!

I love surprising the girls after they have gone to lay down in bed-getting blankets and hot chocolate ready in the car- then going to get them out of bed in their jammies to go drive around and look at Christmas lights. It’s such a fun family time!!

When my daughter was about 6, I took her to buy an ornament and she picked out one and then wanted a second ornament that depicted the nativity scene. I told her that she could only have one ornament, but she told me that she needed that second one because that is what Christmas is all about. Needless to say, I bought that second ornament and it is always displayed right up front on our tree. 🙂

My favorite tradition is waking up to a roaring fire that my dad has built and opening presents in age order from the youngest to the oldest.
The whole side of my husbands family all stay at my inlaws cabin. It is the best thing to see not only your kids open their gifts but to get to see all of your nieces and nephews. We spend a few days together. These are memories our kids will have forever.

Since we have moved so far away from family, our biggest Christmas tradition is driving “home” to see them. I love that we can spend time together as a family. We act out the nativity every Christmas Eve. When we were little, us kids did it, now our children act it out with their cousins. This giveaway is amazing thank you! We’re still in the midst of creating those traditions with my husband and children, but growing up it was me waking up all of my sisters and parents because I was overly anxious about getting going– and we’re talking like 5 a.m. I can see now, as a parent, why my parents probably didn’t appreciate that. 🙂
I’ve been a nurse for a long time and have missed many December 25ths with my family. My favorite thing is being able to create our own Christmas joy together even if the “real” day has come and gone. It has alleviated a lot of stress over the years.

my favorite part about Christmas is challenging myself to take time to do the special things. We aren’t good at routine, but each moment we create to read our advent stories, to cut & hang snowflakes, to play with the nativity pieces, to make special cookies, to find ways to give to someone else….those moments are Christmas treasures for me. They tend to come in authentic ways when I just challenge myself to create the time. God’s gift to us is so amazing…so I try to find amazement in little things.

I love our advent tradition we do with out kids. We have a wooden advet calendar and every night gather together to read part of the Christmas story, sing a Christmas carol and open the door for a special sweet treat. It’s so fun to count down to Christmas and keep emphasizing with our kids the real reason of the season. 🙂

There are so many favorites! I love when we go and pick out a fresh tree together, and put on Christmas music while we decorate. I love making homemade ornaments with my kids. I love putting up the Adornaments and reading the Christmas story. This is one of my favorite times of the year!

We celebrate by singing Happy Birthday to Jesus. My mother started this by baking St. Lucia’s crown and using this for the cake. I now make a point to make this crown myself and sing with my family. It sets the tone for what we should celebrate ultimately!

Growing up we always moved the figures from our nativity closer to the stable each day, with the animals arriving first, followed by Mary and Joseph on Christmas eve. First thing Christmas morning we would place baby Jesus in and bring in the shepherds. Then, finally on the feast of the three kings we would add them and their camels. I love being able to pass on this simple tradition with my kids now.

I love my Church’s Christmas Eve Candlelight service! I also love gathering at my Mom & Dad’s house….it’s something about having old memories and new memories all rolled into one on one of the most special days of the year.
We decorate our tree with ornaments that I have collected since I was a little girl. Every place we visit, we pick up an ornament. Decorating our tree is like going through a scrapbook of our life!

I love watching the innocent surprise in my daughter’s face each day as she opens her advent calendar. Last year at 3.5 and now this year at 4.5 she’s starting to understand the nativity and I’ve loved watching her learn an appreciation for all God does in our lives.

Our family’s favorite tradition is doing the Jesse tree together!
My favorite tradition is all being together, enjoying each other’s company, counting our many blessings, and taking in the glory of the holiday.
My favorite part is finding just the right gift for all of our loved ones, carefully wrapping them, and watching their faces as they open them. That time spent with friends and family to show them just how much you love them is priceless!!
Our tradition is just being together. There have been years where my husband was deployed and it was just the kids and I, overseas, away from family. Thankfully, we will all be together this year though. We bake goodies, watch Christmas movies, and just spend time together. We are so far from our families, so we have to make the most of each other.
Growing up, it was opening presents from our stocking, eating homemade pumpkin bread and drinking fresh squeezed tangerine juice, then going back to open Christmas tree presents. Grandparents came over later, and we would play Christmas carols on our instruments.
Now, it is going to our church’s Christmas Eve service, seeing lights around town, then watching our son open a present one at a time while he plays or looks at each one for awhile. Takes awhile, but he enjoys each gift. We always read the Christmas story from the bible.

I have an 6,9 & 11 yr old girls and every year we make hot cocoa, bake salt doe ornaments and decorate them. After we decorate we dance and sing to Christmas music while we decorate the tree and house. When the girls are finished decorating Santa has been to the house and has brought back our Elf on the Shelf Holly and the kids Love her! This Christmas will be even more special because my girls and I were all saved and baptized in May and I cant wait to bring more of Christ into our Christmas. This Nativity Scene would be the perfect start to that

My favorite time is our advent reading. No matter how crazy busy the day has been we can unwind and refocus on the beauty of Jesus. We just started advent readings a few years ago. Before that, every Christmas season just seemed like a blur…busy and chaotic.

We give our kids (ages 3&2) new pajamas and new books on Christmas Eve and we drink hot chocolate and eat popcorn and read the new books in the cozy pjs in front of the fireplace. Then we look through the catalog of animals to gift to others via world vision and the kiddos get to pick what to send. It’s the best.

What a beautiful set! I remember from my own childhood how magical it was to help my mother set up her nativity, and would love to start the same tradition with my two little girls. My favorite part of Christmas has to be Christmas Eve service at church, especially when singing “Silent Night” by candle light is involved. 🙂 No better way to get my heart in the right place than to sing traditional Christmas carols and celebrate Christ’s birth with our church family!

My favorite part of Christmas is being with my family. Whether it’s my husband being off from work and spending time with the kids and me, or getting together with aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents, it’s truly my favorite time of the year!
We have lots of traditions but our favorite family tradition is caroling to our neighbors. My 3 girls sing Christmas songs, make a home-made ornament for neighbors, and bake goodies. We even take our doggie with us. A tradition for almost 8 years and still going strong. Neighbors even ask what night we will be doing it so they can make sure they are home.
My favorite tradition is our Christmas Eve pizza after our service at church! We have pizza, then our son opens a box with new pi’s and a new picture book about the Christmas story. Simple, but perfect!

My twins are 18 months, so I’m getting my wheels turning trying to decide what I want their traditions to be growing up. We are hosting a Birthday Party for Jesus next month, which I hope will be a tradition for them and their friends. I’m also working on a felt nativity to hang in their playroom for learning the Christmas Story!
My favorite family tradition is filling shoe boxes for operation Christmas child. It gives us the opportunity to bless another child and shows my children it’s much better to give than receive.

My favorite part is watching my little guy explore the tree. I’m looking to start some new traditions now that he’s a bit older (3 this year) so hopefully we’ll make some new favorite memories but knowing my kid, the tree will probably always be something special to him & I can’t wait to see how he reacts to it this year.
I love having cake for breakfast on Christmas morning.
We started a new tradition with our children a couple of years ago. They each get a little pouch that goes on the Christmas tree and they earn money for random acts of kindness during the month of December, usually just a quarter per kindness and it can’t be prompted by my husband or myself. On Christmas Eve, they pick out a gift (or several) from the World Vision gift catalog to give. We get extended family members in on it and tell them they can pledge $.10 per kindness or something to that effect as well if they would like. The great part is that they have added their own money. Once they get a goal in mind of what they want to give, they work so hard to give that on Christmas Eve! It’s been so fun to get them focuses on giving rather than getting at Christmas.

We have a Little People nativity that my girls just love, but I would love for them to have one that can grow with them as they continue to remember the reason for the season. Listening to my girls share the Christmas story is my favorite part of Christmas.

We love reading and doing advent activities together. Decorating the house is also so fun and festive.
A favorite is the Christmas calendar we have. My mom would write out “clues” for each day’s slot up til Christmas Day and would hide a treat somewhere around the house. As a kid we each got to take turns reading the clue and would love trying to find the little candy pieces she left for each of us. Now that I’m a mom I do this with my boys and we have a little bible reading for each day as well. They love it! And when their little buddies are over for supper they get to hear a bible story and do the “clue” as well 🙂

I love letting my kids choose a charity to donate to. We gather around Christmas morning and let them pick…..it’s awesome watching them get excited about giving and seeing their personalities come through in their choices.
My favorite part is Christmas Eve spent with family and going to the candlelight worship service.
My favorite time of family Christmas celebration is when we get together on Christmas Eve for the worship candelit service. It really brings the focus as to why we celebrate. We then go home & all the kids get new pjs in much anticipation for the next morning.
I love them so much! I also love Christmas lunch. Food is definitely one of my favorite parts of Christmas.

The favorite part of our Family Christmas celebration is the togetherness of Christmas Eve. Every year it is tradition that all of my mom’s sister and brothers get together for dinner at my grandparent’s house. Children, grandchildren, cousins, uncles aunts… the whole nine yards we are all there this one night of the year. Being military this is the one time I know I can travel there and see all of my loved ones in one place filled with love, peace and joy!
My favorite part is Christmas morning reading the story of God’s love to our children and sharing time of prayer with them. I grew up with that tradition and we have carried it on in our family.
My favorite part is the prep. I love the advent season and teaching my boys the true meaning of Christmas while keeping it fun, makes me happy. I really embrace the ‘magic’ of the season and hope my boys will someday carry on the traditions we are starting.
I love the whole season! But my favorite is our little family’s advent devotions and family activity.
On Christmas Eve, we bake a birthday cake for Jesus and then each write our gift to Jesus on a slip of paper (something we will do for him and focus on for the next year). We place them inside a beautiful gift box filled with straw. Then on Christmas morning, our first gift is to open that box which now contains the Baby Jesus that goes to the nativity set passed down to us by our great grandmother. We add it to the nativity and read the Christmas story from the Bible.

We love our nights of Advent!
Thank you for the opportunity to win this! It is beautiful! My favorite part of Christmas is Christmas Eve when we are tucking our children into bed and reading the Christmas Story (again) to them all the while preaching the Gospel, explaining God’s love and providence in Christ for His people. Going to bed knowing that we are celebrating the eve of our Savior’s birth is just so humbling, loving, and overwhelming all at the same time!
Definitely making homemade presents with our kids for our extended families.
Oh where to start! I love baking cookies with my kiddos, doing advent readings together, decorating the house, checking out the Christmas lights around the neighborhood, and mostly the togetherness of it all!
One of my favorite things my family does at Christmas is on Christmas Eve we let the girls open their Christmas jammies and then get in the car and ride around looking at Christmas lights.We all bring a thermos of hot cocoa and my little one gets chocolate milk 🙂 Your nativity set is gorgeous!

We love celebrating an advent countdown with bible stories. We also love incorporating St Nicks day.
We’re still developing traditions but one of my favorites is going to the Biltmore House to look at the beautiful decorations, getting our annual family photo, and each family member gets to pick one new ornament in their Christmas shop. Great way to kick off Christmas Eve!
Our favorite part is opening a new book every night and reading together as a family. We don’t have a nativity and would love to add that to our tradition!
Instead of doing the elf on the shelf we hide the wise men as they travel to find Baby Jesus. The nativity wise men are found all around the house. The kids love it and on Christmas day they find Baby Jesus. (they know that they really find him after he was born) It is a fun way to remind them that Christmas is about seeking the joy of Jesus’ birth.
Love Christmas for the meaning of it and also it’s a time where family and friends gather together. The holiday season brings so much joy and celebration we have 3 birthdays too around Christmas).
My favorite part of Christmas revolves around traditions. Everything from spending days in the kitchen cooking and baking with my mom, dad, and fiancee to opening Christmas presents with my family. I love it all but last year Christmas took on another meaning when two days before my fiancee proposed!

Since having kids we’ve decided not to rush and open presents first thing. We just relax, take it easy. We have friends over (don’t live near family and travel at other cheaper times) so we actually didn’t open this past year until the day after Christnas. It is nice because we felt we could focus on more important things.

I love getting the house decorated for Christmas and then doing all of our Advent activities in anticipation & preparation for celebrating Christmas.
Family photos! Every year my our whole family always takes family photos. We do a big group one, then kids, grandkids and every other combo that you can think of. Its so great to be able to look back at all the pictures from the previous years. PLUS its one of the few times I can get my 15 year old to take a picture!
I love getting all the decorations out and decorating the tree with my kids.
Our Christmas is never complete without candlelight service at my mom’s church. Its so quiet and reverent. It brings our center back to the real reason.

My favorite part of Christmas is the advent devotional we do as a family each week. Lighting the candles, reading the Word with our children and sharing the sense of Holy expectation is the most wonderful part of Christmas to me.
I love that my kids want to have traditions. I make cinnamon buns for Christmas morning, and then we all sit and eat together and share our joy in the birth of Christ. Love it!
We always love putting in each piece of the nativity on the different Sundays in Lent, reading and discussing the appropriate Bible verses, Singing a hymn, and saying prayers while we wait for the day Jesus was born.
I love our Christmas advent where we have a fun Christmas themed activity every day!

When our oldest son was small, we received an olive-wood nativity set from Jerusalem that we put out every year. The first year our son (then just 4) saw it, it bothered him that Baby Jesus didn’t have a blanket – he kept telling me that the baby was cold. So he asked me to cut a piece of his blankie to put over the baby. We have kept that small scrap of blankie all these years and still use it to cover the baby. Our son is now 32 and only vaguely remembers that day, but his daughter will be 3 next month – it will be interesting to see what traditions she brings to their family!

My husband and I have been married a year, and are in the process of making our own traditions. We are hoping to have our first Christmas together in our new house (if it is finished in time for Christmas). We started cooking a special Christmas supper with Beef Wellington last year. That was so much fun. Hoping to go to Midnight Mass this year together!

Our favorite part of the Christmas season is doing The Truth in the Tinsel (this will be our 4th year doing it) and setting aside our little family Thanksgiving of our favorite Turkey day foods. Afterwards, we pull out the Christmas decorations and deck the halls. We love it! Oh, and last year, we started doing a neighborhood Christmas Light Scavenger Hunt. So much fun!

I love spending time with family and friends. And all of the opportunities to visit with neighbors.
I remember as a kid, we used to drive around looking at Christmas lights. We would count how many houses we saw with them. Back then, maybe one out of 10-15 would be lit up, and we only put electric candles in our windows. Now, EVERY house has lights up, which is awesome, including us. One of my favorite current things is coming home in the dark & seeing MY house all lit up. I literally get SO EXCITED to see my garage & front porch in beautiful, multi-colored big, fat lights. I actually clap my hands in joy the 1st couple of times I see it. Boy, I’m a dork. 🙂

Also- we don’t do this anymore since we are all grown, but when we were kids, we would all sing silent night holding candles at bedtime. We’d start downstairs at the piano and then we would walk everyone to bed singing it. When we got to each room, we’d blow out our candle and go to bed. I plan to start that with my kiddos once they are older.
My favorite is decorating the house, the tree, the first snow, a warm house with good treats, and watching the kids get so excited for it all. Simple things.

baking holiday cookies and sending them to our family who live far away has been a tradition that we look forward to every year. We spend 2 weeks just baking cookies and candy, then we ship them off. The best part is always the joy that it brings our family and friends when they get their tins of goodies!
My favorite Christmas tradition is after church on Christmas Eve we come home and dress the boys in their pjs and then load back in the car and drive around looking at the best Christmas lights in our area while listening to Christmas music. The boys normally fall asleep in the car and we tuck them in when we get home.

My favorite tradition to do with my boys is to go look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve. We listen to Christmas music and drink hot chocolate. Then we come home and they are allowed to open one Christmas package and it always has a pair of PJ’s, a Christmas movie and their favorite snacks. We all watch the movie in our pj’s and enjoy our snacks. The next morning we eat breakfast and open up presenta then viait grandparents. I love Christmas!

My favorite part of our celebration is when we come home from the candlelight service at church and the kids get into their Christmas jammies. There is so much excitement and anticipation. My husband and I enjoy a glass of eggnog with the lights on the tree and around the house. Someday the kids will join us for that too.
There are so many things I love about the holidays! I especially love picking out our Christmas tree the day after thanksgiving at a local tree farm. We all (including the dog) hunt for and cut down the perfect tree, drink homemade apple cider and eat some treats as we warm up inside by the fire. I also just enjoy spending quality time with my family whether it be decorating, baking, wrapping gifts, or snuggling by the fireplace.

My favorite part of Christmas day is eating happy birthday Jesus pan-cakes for breakfast after the kids have opened their gifts. Seeing how happy they are, and remembering the real gift of Jesus, is the best!

At the beginning of December we begin our devotions for Advent by decorating our Jesse tree. Last year we also read Jotham’s Journey. Our family focuses on the true meaning of the Season.

My favorite part of Christmas is with my husband’s family on Christmas morning. In our jammies, we get cozy in the living room with our coffee and the fireplace DVD playing on the TV. One at a time we open up gifts. The whole process of gift opening takes hours and it’s wonderful!

My favorite part of Christmas is making a Jesse tree during the month of December with my kids. I collect Nativity sets that I find interesting/unusual/beautiful. I started in 1999 when I purchased one made of olive wood in Israel. This summer, I bought a pottery one during a missions trip to Honduras. This would be a wonderful addition to my collection!
On of our favorite traditions is opening our Advent calender daily. We include in ours certain ways to serve others (like making cards for a nursing home) along with fun family activities.

It’s amazing to look back and see how we’ve grown in numbers as my siblings and I have children and the tradition of doing this since we were little continues. So much love and nostalgia, it is absolutely one of my very favorite things to do.

There are so many special things we do around Christmas. One of my favorite Christmas traditions is making sugar cutout cookies with my small kids. They get so creative and I love seeing what they come up with as they cut out and decorate. Another one is going through the Christmas story with my kids and playing with our children’s nativity set with them. I LOVE this beautiful nativity set!!!

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is to make and serve a meal on Christmas Eve at the teen homeless shelter in our city. Sometimes it’s dinner, sometimes breakfast, depending on their needs, but we never miss a year. This is something we do once a month, but in December it’s always twice so we can be there on Christmas.
My favorite part… that’s hard to pinpoint because we loooooove the whole Christmas season. But I guess I’d have to say trimming the tree. I used to have a “perfect” tree with glass ornaments and took so much time and care on trimming the tree. Now I have kids. I let them do it all now. We have home made ornaments, plastic ones, and just some of what I used to consider the tackiest ornaments. But my boys love to trim the tree, hymns blaring, loud voices singing, ornaments flying… and then we spend the month of December doing “Truth in Tinsel”, learning the bible stories of Christmas and making an ornament daily that goes on our tree. So i learned to give up control and the idea of a “perfect” Christmas when I had my 2 boys and now we have a new perfect.
I love Christmas morning- we’re all together, and take time to read the Christmas story from Luke 2. then a leisurely opening of presents, and playing with the games. lots of time to relax and visit. def my favorite part!
One of our favorite Christmas experiences is to choose a local family in need. Our whole family, kids on up, help choose gifts for their kiddos, include a book for the family (This year it’s Ann Voskamp’s Unwrapping the Greatest Gift devotional!) and a grocery gift card. My kids start their giving towards this project in September when they clean out their closets and we sell our gently used stuff to raise funds for the gifts, book, and grocery card. My kids enjoy seeing the dollars add up as their things sell. Then comes the best part…sneaking up to the family’s home on Christmas Eve, ringing the doorbell, and making a fast get-a-way without being seen. This experience involves our whole family and keeps Christmas centered on giving. It also brings an intrinsic joy to Christmas that nothing under the tree can give.

Every Christmas Eve, I have whomever is sharing it with us (after the Nativity Story acted out…from grandchildren) have my dear loved ones Fill out a card (with the three wise men on it) writing down what their “GIFT” to the Savior will be this year. They put their name and date and their “CHOSEN” written gift or promise in this card and we have a “old wooden chest” that my son made in cub scouts which we put them in under the tree ! I save them and will put them in a scrapbook for each one of them…someday…soon I hope…. because every year I get a little older! Sent with Love from Me, Grandma Darling ! (That’s what I like my darling grandchildren to call me ! XO

ever since we moved to a different state for work and therefore far from family, i have truly loved having christmas with just our little family. it is always so peaceful, stress free, and filled with joy. i love being able to share christmas with the ones i care the most about and to be able to avoid all the craziness you sometimes get when you live close to extended family. 🙂
One of my favorite things is doing our Advent calendar and blessing family and friends with treats/crafts that my kids have made.

My favorite part of Christmas is getting all the family together and playing games after the kids have opened presents and we’ve all eaten dinner. It’s so nice – the kids are playing with their new gifts and watching Christmas movies, and the adults get some time to play games and reconnect!

I love our advent devotion time. Evenings gathered around the table by candlelight, talking about the reason for Christmas and sharing it with my kids.
My Mom sewed an Advent Calendar when I was little. My sister and I loved hanging each hand-made ornament on our advent tree and reading the corresponding verse. Now we enjoy this tradition with our son!
This nativity is beautiful! I actually think the Nativity is my favorite part of our Christmas traditions. We have one that is more of a you for the kids. We set it near the tree and the kids play with it throughout the season. Whenever we talk about the story of Jesus’ birth we always use the figures. I just love it. 🙂
My yard nativity is one of my favorite things about Christmas. My husband built a life size nativity and we live on a corner lot on a heavily trafficked road. It’s just neat to be able to share our love for the season with passers by. I also love doing the advent calendar with my kids.
I love doing a book advent with my kids. Snuggling and reading Christmas stories is so fun!
My favorite Christmas tradition is how we do Santa Claus. My kids don’t believe in him, but we all play Santa. Every kid gets a night of their own leading up to Christmas to stay up late to their favorite cookies and milk to put out the gifts that they made.
My favorite part of the Christmas season is our time with family and friends while enjoying the extra joy of the season. I also just love the lights and decorations. It adds so much to our cozy home!

The women in my family get together to make lefse( Norwegian potato bread),cookies, crumcacke, peanut squares, and tons of other family revipes. Takes all day and we are spent at the end but I will al ways treasure those days! I get to hear my grandma’s stories every year and the never get old!
My favorite part of Christmas is the feeling. The feeling of warmth by the fire. The feeling of love from others and toward others. The feeling that our Savior was born and we are celebrating that wonderful day. The feeling of being full after a yummy meal.

Every Christmas my husband and I go to a place called the Christmas Train. On Christmas Morning we eat beignets and open gifts at my parents house! We do not have a nativity set so this would be a perfect addition to our Christmas décor! 🙂

My favorite part is that we decided a few years back to stay home on Christmas instead of trying to drive around to different family members home, spending most of the day in cars & stuck in traffic. By staying home, we spend time with just the 5 of us, stay in PJs if we want & just enjoy the day. We visit everyone else within the couple weeks leading up to Christmas. SO much less stress!

On Christmas Eve my two little sisters always slept with me and we took turns creeeeping up the stairs to see if Santa had visited us yet.
We go cut down a tree for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. We visit a family tree farm in Elgin – it smells so wonderful out there! Then, we stop by a BBQ place on the way home for some lunch. We laugh because the parking lot is FULL of cars and trucks with newly cut trees attached! Our tree always lasts until after Jan. 1st at which point the City of Austin collects all the real trees and mulches them for our parks. Nothing like having the scent of REAL Christmas tree in your home. (:

It’s hard to think of one thing that’s my favourite part of Christmas! I love having my grown children home with me; filling their stockings that were knitted by their great grandmother and going to church on Christmas Eve. Your nativity set is a beautiful reminder of the reason for Christmas.
My favorite part was going to my Gram’s on Christmas Eve. Since she passed a few years back, it’s been so hard to be without it. We now have friends over and it’s fun but bittersweet. Mostly I just love being with my family. I live away now, and that’s the one time of year that we are all together.

My favorite Christmas traditions/memory centers around stockings. The as we unpack the Christmas decorations and remove the stockings from the box. I can’t help but smile when I remember the day my husband and I went to the fabric store with our two (older adopted children) to select fabric for stockings. This would be our first Christmas at home together. The kids were 11 and 4 at the time. The kids were like children in a candy store, walking, sometimes running through the displays of fabric, so enthusiastic about choosing the fabric and trimmings for their stockings. The end result? One black ultra suede stocking with a silver tinsel cuff, the other gold satin with a green fur cuff and black and gold ribbon wrapped around. Through thick and thin, these stockings always end up on the mantel-a favorite Christmas memory/tradition for our family.

My favorite family Christmas tradition is probably the way we all crash with blankets and huge piles of pillows to watch silly movies and eat pizza the night of Christmas, after all the festive and fancy foods and bustling that comes from celebrating with ALL the family. It’s a quiet time of just relaxing and being together, and it’s become a favorite for sure.

My favorite family Christmas tradition is Christmas Eve pjs! Ever since my brothers and I were little, we always got to open one gift the night before Christmas. That one gift has always consisted of wonderful new pajamas! Although it is not important to my brothers anymore (we are all adults now… I am 21), my mom still gives us Christmas Eve pjs and I look forward to it each year. The tradition will always be special to me, and I will carry it on with my own future family.
My favorite part of Christmas is a tradition we started when our 3 kids were pre teens and teens where we would wake up Christmas morning and everyone would have their silly string ready and we would have silly string wars before our Christmas breakfast and opening presents. Our children our all grown now and have small kids of their own and it is all of our favorite memories and a tradition that our children want to pass on to their children.

Growing up, we played with the nativity figures ALL of the time. We rearranged them, made the kings come, loved that part of Christmas. My kids did the same! We always had at least one or two different sets that were ok to play with. My favorite part! The real meaning.
I love just being with family and seeing their excitement.
Christmas time is so incredibly special to me, especially since becoming a Christian. If I had to pick one Christmas tradition that is the most meaningful, it would be picking our tree out together, as a family, and hanging years with of memories on it. It takes us days to empty out bins of ornaments. My children are still young, and I love seeing the joy they receive when their eyes light upon a favorite ornament.

The whole month of December we bake cookies and candy together as a family! We use old favorites and new recipes every year. Now my 4yo is old enough to really start helping, and we are super excited to bake this year:)

My favorite part about our Christmas’ spent together is my husband and I reading the Christmas story from the bible to our children, we also have a special tree where we put an ornament on each night when we read the Advent Jesse Tree devotional. My favorite Christmas tradition was/is sitting around and watching people open the fun gifts I (and now my husband too!) got for them! I love watching people’s expressions opening up a sweet gift they didn’t expect (or sometimes did, those snoops!;) with such joy and anticipation. And what’s even super fun now, is that I get to watch even more expressions of joy and anticipation now that my nephews and niece (6 of them under the age of 5!;) are apart of our family tradition too! I know the whole gift giving thing at Christmas is debatable of throwing Christ off center (I’ve wrestled with this) but I do think God loves to bless and give good things to His children and maybe I’m getting a little glimpse of that:)

Reading the Christmas story with my boys. I read it as a child and now to have my boys tell the same story is priceless.
Our favorite Christmas tradition is our nativity. First, it is displayed (sans Baby Jesus – he comes out Christmas morning) front and center under our Christmas tree. All the gifts are behind it because they are secondary. Our greatest gift was His birth. The kids spend the days of the season earning pieces of hay for the manger – they earn them by doing kind deeds for others. The purpose is to make Baby Jesus’ bed as soft as possible before his arrival. It is truly my favorite part of Christmas. They always find such joy in coming to tell me what they’ve done to earn some hay.

When I was a kid I loved playing with my Mom’s nativity set. I broke several of the pieces over the years but she still displays the pieces that have been super-glued back together.

We have a lot of wonderful traditions but I think the best “tradition” of all is really just the concept of FAMILY! Not many other times can we get together and just focus on being together! The holidays brings together people from far and near just to enjoy each other’s company! How cool is that!? That is what Christmas is about…celebrating the birth of Christ with the ones you love the most!
my favorite is having a candlelit dinner at home – always chicken tetrazzini with a vegetable, warm bread and red wine, and then to church for my favorite service of the year!

I have so many. But I loved trekking downstairs in my pj’s to our den, where the tree was. I could open one gift right away, would hang out with my parents and have to wait until my brother awakened. Hi Lisa, I love ALL of Cristmas!….. But on Christmas Eve my mum comes to stay and we put on Christmas carols and make mince pies to leave with a glass of sherry and some carrots on a tray for Santa! we are still figuring out Christmas traditions now that we’re grown up and my sister has kids…..we’ve started having a sleepover at my parent’s house and it seems to be working well – fun to all be at the same house!
We like making a cake to celebrate the birthday of Jesus and going to the Christmas Eve service. Hard to pick a favorite between those two favorites!
Our favorite tradition is the family service at church on Christmas Eve and then a celebration with all the kids at our friends’ house.
This is so perfect. I’ve been using my nativity set every year that we’ve had since I was born. Sadly after 34 years we are down to 2 figures. We lost Jesus (literally, not figuratively) and Joseph’s head fell off. My sister and I used to love setting the Manger up every year! Now we have a daughter we adopted from China and I’d love to share this with her. Her first official Christmas is coming up so what better way to introduce her to the reason for Christmas! 🙂

My favorite Christmas tradition growing up was going to the 10pm Christmas eve service at church, opening a present (alway new pajamas) and hanging our stockings. Then my sisters and I would act out the Christmas story with the nativity set. We always fought over when got the be the voice of Mary and baby Jesus.
Now that I’m a mom of a 2 year old we are planning on starting many of our own traditions. The best part of Christmas is family coming together to give thanks to God for the greatest gift of all!
Every year with our extended family, we get together on the morning of Christmas Eve for brunch, and then have a Christmas recital. Everyone had to play an instrument or sing, and when we were younger we shared the little verses that we learned for our Christmas Eve program at church. Everyone gets creative and it’s a very special memory!

My favorite Christmas tradition is getting together with the whole family on Christmas eve since we all don’t get to be together that often. Then staying up late by the fire with the tree lit up and Christmas morning breakfast with just us.
My favorite time is when my daughters are in bed on Christmas Eve and finally asleep and the presents are all wrapped or not and ready under the tree and the whole scene is peaceful and quiet and beautiful. It’s also heavy with the anticipation of the following mornings excitement.
One of my favorite traditions is getting together with my parents, siblings and their families for Christmas Eve breakfast. We do it potluck style so it’s not a lot of work for one person. It’s a great way to start the day!

My favorite part is decorating the tree. As each piece comes out we spend more time talking about where it came from or who made it than anything. We don’t have a matchy color scheme or anything. Our tree is a mess of memories and it is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.

One of our favorite Christmas traditions is the advent calendar. Ours has little pockets so we put little notes with activities, crafts, Christmas outings…anything from “candy day” to “bake cookies for the neighbors” depending on how organized Mommy is that day ; ). The best activities have been buying gifts for kids in need or making cards for others…those have made special memories for our family! But the kids love a good old candy day or pajama day too! Love this navity so much…just beautiful!

Every Christmas as a child we went to my grandparents. We are breakfast, opened gifts, and spent time together. Today, we still go there every Christmas morning. It’s a wonderful tradition to share with my daughters. Our family has grown as my siblings and cousins have families of our own. There are about 30 handmade stockings on my grandma’s fireplace. My grandpa passed 11 years ago but we are blessed to still have my grandma. She has had a rough couple years and it’s a miracle she is still with us. I cherish this memory.
My favorite Christmas tradition is staying up late watching Christmas movies with my kids on Christmas Eve, sharing snacks, and the excitement of waking up the next morning.

Growing up my family always had a glass Nativity that would sit on the bricks next to the fire place. I always remembered my sister and I setting up all of the people and learning over the years who everyone was. As we grew older and moved around, we would always bring out the Nativity. This year as the holidays grow near, I get to start making my own Christmas traditions with my new husband. Every Christmas my family writes letters to eachother and puts them in each persons stockings. On Christmas we read our letters from everyone that year as well as years past then out them all back in our stockings for the next year. When our stockings get too full we transfer some of the letters to a box for safekeeping. My mother in law started this tradition and it is one I love carrying on.
Christmas Eve is my favorite of our traditions. We spend the morning passing out cookies to friends and neighbors and then in the evening after church we have a picnic style meal on the living room floor with the the tree lit and candles for light. The little kids usually act out the christmas story or my mom reads the christmas story to them.
It is a tradition that my grandparents started with her mom and her sister that all of my siblings definitely continue/will continue on with our own families!

I truely Love all the traditions with Christmas . It’s fun to watch it come Alive with our three year old . She is crazy about Santa and Jesus so we love the nativity . Favorite tradition is putting up the decorations with my girl and seeing the excitement in her eyes

I love the build up and anticipation of Santa’s visit. My family and I celebrate on Christmas Eve. We start the day off with a few rounds of BINGO. We proceed to eat off an endless smorgasbord of food and enjoy each other’s company. In the evening each family goes to their respective Church for Christmas Eve service. After service we return to my parents to see that Santa was magically there while we were out. The excitement, smiles and love just radiate from the warmth of the fire in the fire place during gift opening. Of course you can’t forget “A Christmas Story” playing in the background on the TV. Christmas is that much special when you get to experience the magic with your own child.
Just being with friends and family as we celebrate the birth if our Savuor is my favorite part of Christmas. Leading up to Christmas we do a Jesse Tree devotional every evening going through the story of redemption from creation to Christ. This is another special time for our family to focus on the true meaning of the holiday.

My favorite part of Christmas as a kid was christmas morning with my family when my mom would make cinnamon rolls and we’d open gifts together. I’m so excited to create those memories with my own kids now. My oldest turns 3 right after Christmas and I know he will love it so much this year!
We always grill out with the inlaws on Christmas eve, I love it. And this nativity is beyond words.

This is my comment for my Pinterest post. 🙂 I’ll add a second favorite part of Christmas. I love singing by candlelight at the Christmas Eve service. We go to the Family Service at 4:00 now, but there are still candles for “Silent Night”. The feeling of peace is overwhelming. I love that I get to share it with my kids.

Favorite tradition? Well, we love our Truth in the Tinsel advent devotion, of course. But my other fave tradition is everyone has their own mini Christmas trees and they get a mini ornament every year—that way, when the kids grow up (*sniff*) and get their own place, they’ll have a Christmas tree ready for that first dorm room or apartment. 😉

Our children and grandchildren get together every Christmas Eve. We write a “wish” on paper and place it in the fireplace. The smoke going up the chimney is our wishes being carried up for the Angels to read. These aren’t wishes for “things” They are love letters to our loved ones who have passed away… Its something that always brings tears yo my eyes and an ache to my heart. But a tradition I hold dear. Last year especially. All our “wishes” were sent by each and every one of us to our precious Kate.
My favorite tradition is stockings. Everyone gets a stocking – adults, kids, pets, guests, everyone! Last year, we were dog sitting, and Santa brought gifts for the extra dog as well as our own. The stockings are full of little gifts like pencils, candy, Band-Aids, stickers, hair bands and always a new toothbrush.

My birthday is Christmas Eve, and we’ve always had a family Christmas/birthday party that day. It’s wonderful to celebrate your birthday and Christmas at the same time and have the whole family be there. I love how we’ve been able to do this every single year and it’s been fun to watch the family grow over the years!
I collect a child friendly nativity each year. This one would be a perfect addition.
My favorite part of Christmas is setting up my NaNa’s handmade Chistmas Village under our tree. It was something she had every year and that the kids loved to play with while growing up. Before she passed, she recreated a village for each of her grandchildren so we could carry on the tradition. Our village is missing the nativity though, which would make a perfect addition to complete it! Fingerd crossed!!!
My favourite thing is that we get to be together as a family – good spirits, good food, family and friends – that’s what the season is all about!!!

My favorite part of our Christmas traditions is doing everything I can to make Christmas as magical for my son as my parents did for me.
Christmas Eve is my favorite. Church, and tortilla soup for dinner. Sounds strange no doubt and it’s not what I grew up with. But 6 years ago our family spent Christmas in a childrens hospital after our 2 year old was diagnosed with cancer. The next year, things weren’t great, but we were home, together. All I could muster for dinner was canned soup. But we had never been more grateful. So now we eat soup and remember how greatly blessed we are.

My part of Christmas growing up was sing Christmas carols with my family. We don’t do that anymore but it gave me great memories. Now I love playing with my children in front of the tree with their Little People nativity and driving around with hot chocolate looking at Christmas lights!
No special traditions, just the fact that Jesus is the reason for the season, and ‘Oh what a wonderful child He is’ He lives and reigns!
My favorite part is all the extra time we get to spend with family. I love hanging out with extended family and just playing games or talking. Watching all the kids play together and truly enjoy each other is the best!

Christmas Eve has always been an important tradition. We go to church, eat delicious good and open presents (early, I know). I’m so happy we get to continue this tradition with my own growing family
On Christmas morning, we read the Christmas story. While I’m passionate about God, honestly it’s such a sweet memory because one of our children read the story. I will never forget my eldest reading it for the first time… she’d be diagnosed as dyslexic earlier that year and really, really struggled to read. She’d finally gained some confidence to read out loud and asked to read the Christmas story. That morning was so full of emotion of God’s great love and mercy.

My favorite part of my family’s Christmas is our handmade stockings. My great aunt started this tradition when she made my mother and her siblings stockings. My mom’s stocking is of a vintage Santa, circa 1960! It is beautiful! Anyway, when my mom found out she was pregnant with me, she began working on my stocking and eventually made one for each of my siblings. I have one niece and my mom made her stocking as well. They are so special. Everyone in my family beams with pride over their stocking, arguing that theirs is the best!
My favorite part of Christmas (well one part at least is watching Hallmark channel movies and drinking my “friendship tea” while working on Christmas gifts. (Usually during naptimes)
I love cooking on Christmas morning with my mom. She has taught me to put so much love into what we serve our family.

My favorite part is spending time with my family; I love that my loved ones are all under one roof and no one has to go go to school/ work/errands. It’s short lived, so I savor every moment.
I have so many favorite memories of Christmas growing up! We would all wake up early and get our stockings; wait for Mom and Dad to have their coffee and we would sit there and look at the tree with all those presents under it!! Then my Dad would read the Christmas story from the Bible and pray. and after all of that, we could open our presents! After our Christmas dinner, my Mom always had a Birthday cake for Jesus. We would sing happy birthday to Him and one of us would blow out the candle. My parents did a great job of mixing the magical with the spiritual! But, they never wanted us to forget the real meaning…Jesus birthday!
Before we open presents on Christmas morning, my husband had to turn on the lights on the Christmas Tree! The children could hardly wait!
My favorite part is just having family time together, we eat a brunch type supper on Christmas Eve and open presents together that night. All my kids are married so it’s great to have them all there together for the evening.

My favorite part is Christmas Eve. It is my sister’s birthday, so we do a non-Christmas lunch, then turn it around to Christmas that night. I love the food, the lights, the fun. We lost my mom 3 years ago, so it has been different, but we try and live up to all that she gave us for everything, including that holiday.
We always have Grasshoppers on Christmas Eve. My mom began this tradition and it continues today…as long as I am not scheduled to work.

Oh, I dearly want one of these! 🙂 My favorite tradition has always been acting out the nativity story on Christmas Eve. The best one happened when I was a teenager and several families came to visit. We had enough people to do all the animals, an entire host of angels, and plenty of shepherds along with the usual cast. It was so much fun!

Every since I was a toddler, my mother bought a new Christmas book and read it to us every Christmas Eve. I’m now in my late 20s and she still does it… even though my sister lives in the UK and we have to Skype with her so she and her husband can listen!
It’s hard to pick just one favorite Christmas tradition! Dinner at my mom’s on Christmas Eve, lunch at my MIL’s on Christmas Day, watching the boys open their presents at the CRACK OF DAWN Christmas morning … I love it all!

Tough question…favorite part of our Christmas celebration…so hard to choose! I love and cherish doing our family advent study together daily in December and spending time with my kiddos making the corresponding craft at night. It is a lovely way to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and to forget about the materialism aspect of the holiday.

Growing up I loved going to my grandparents’ house and playing card games late into the night with aunts, uncles and cousins. Now we live in the same city as most of our family, and we all go to our own houses when the feasting is over, and I so miss the leisurely togetherness. My family just started a new tradition when my son was born where we donate the same amount of money that we spend on Christmas gifts. It helps us keep our gift budget under control, too! We have had a blast donating to our favorite charities, but the most fun has been anonymous cash giving. Paying for everyone in the drive thru line at McDonald’s on Christmas Eve feels incredible!
My favorite is the Happy Birthday Jesus cake (sour cream coffee cake) we have Christmas morning. We sing Happy Birthday and the kids blow out the candles.

My husband and I both come from huge Italian families, and on Christmas we have a big ge together where we make homemade sauce, pasta, sausage, and every other good recipe that’s been passed down in the families for generations- it’s delicious and such a wonderful time to be together with family!
My favorite Christmas tradition is spending Christmas Eve with at my mom’s house. That is where all my memories are from childhood. Takes me back to the times when things were much simpler.

My favorite part of Christmas was placing our nativity into the crèche my Gramp made. It was way too big, but my Mom swallowed her perfectionism and let us use it anyway. We would put everyone in, except Baby Jesus, who would appear Christmas morning. Somehow, Baby Jesus was lost over the years, but my parents moved, recently, and Baby Jesus was found! All four of us are grown and most have several kids, but I have the crèche, way too large for a nativity I have found, so yours would be a great beginning to our our tradition! (I tried to paste the photo of the one my gramps made, circa 1974ish, but I can’t figure out how to)
My favorite memory is going to my grandparents when I was a child and wondering if Santa had come while we were away. My brother & I would watch the sky for his sled & we were sure we saw the big guy up there a few times. Some years he had been when we got home & some years we had to wait until Christmas morning, but the anticipation was always priceless. I would love to win the nativity since now I know that the true meanin of Christmas is not Santa & the gifts but The Gift that God gave us on that night so long ago in a stable in Bethlehem. On Christmas Eve, we love baking cookies for Santa and sprinkling “reindeer food” (oatmeal & glitter) on the front lawn. So magical for the kids!
My favorite part is going to church with my family on Christmas Eve. Everyone is dressed up. The church is decorated. There is special music and a stirring sermon. At that point I just look down my pew at my little family and thank God for all of the truly wonderful gifts He has given me–most of al Jesus Christ!
