oh how i love the treasure chest {hospice partners} thrift shop on higuera in san luis obispo. they know me by name. they actually called me a couple weeks ago to come look at a table because they knew i would love it. how amazing is that??
this day, i came away with the cream wool coat, my sister came away with two vintage quilts, my mom found a huge frame. i love a good buy!
right now i’m on the hunt for a vintage upholstered chair in lime green or aqua for our bedroom. i’m patient. it will find me some day! how about you? what are you hunting for right now?
hello. im really enjoying your blog, pictures and creations. i noticed the strap on your camera…did you make that or purchase? i love it. very fashionable camera!!!!
hi michelle! that’s an eclectic whatnot stap. you can find them here http://www.eclecticwhatnot.bigcartel.com/
Love that store! I also have pretty good luck at Mission Thrift.
I am looking for frames, and a desk. It’s hard to be diligent to go often enough to our thrift stores out here, they aren’t anything like yours! I’ll be patient though.
Hi Lisa, first let me say I love looking at your finds and Paris appreciates the pictures of Matty too ! I am in search of a writting desk in a french country kinda style something with bones like that !! I found a piece on craigslist last month, but they never responded and the add it stilll there…Hmmm !
I almost bought a wool vintage coat last week (only$15) but I thought I couldn’t pull it off. Now I’m running right back there to see if it is still there. Thanks for the encouragement.
This is my first visit to your blog (I was recommended to come by a friend), and I’m loving it.
And that shop? I’d really like to shop there…right now.
Always on the lookout for more dining room chairs!
What a cool shop – and how wonderful that it benefits hospice! We have several shops near us that benefit good causes…so the thrifting feels even better!!
I have been searching for cowbgirl boots…I just think they would be so fun and comfortable.
I’m looking for the perfect coffee table, bench, ottoman, something for our living room. I’ll know it when I see it — and hope that it’s looking for me too so that we’ll recognize immediately.
lisa – you look divine in that coat!
your blog is so inspirational!
I so enjoy hearing about your “finds.” I’m looking for a matching pair of “somethings” for our dining room to go on either side of the window. I know I’ll find just the perfect pair when I’m least expecting to. Happy Day to you!
I’m searching for a vintage dress form, but I don’t have the money that some are going for. Sigh…..
oh i want a vintage dress form tooooo!
There were several vintage dress forms at the Three Speckled Hens show in Paso Robles. They had some GOOD stuff! They have another show coming up in May. http://www.threespeckledhens.com/ Check it out! :o)
I was looking for a mannequin for forever. I finally made a RSS feed for my local Craigslist, using mannequin as my keyword….Just do a search for “dress form” and use that to make your RSS feed.
Took awhile, but it showed up on a yard sale listing…$25 bucks and “Jane” and I were on our way! She was standing in their yard as I drove down the street, with her hand waved high…like HELLO! I dressed her up and she’s a hit at my craft shows. LOL!
Lisa – I found your blog (no idea how!) Jan 1, which led me to OLW — amazing! Thanks!
i’m hunting for something new to hang on my side door, now that the christmas wreath is gone 🙂
happy new year to you!
Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!!!!!!
I would seriously make a trip to your area JUST to visit this shop. How delightful!!!!
LOVE the coat on you!! 🙂
When it comes to thrift stores…I need help. I have a good friend who finds lots of great things and a brother who knows all the good stores in town….so as long as one of them points me in the right direction…I’m good to go.
I don’t know why…because I love vintage things…I just haven’t got the knack for finding things.
i love ANY thrift store finds! i am starting to get into refinishing / painting furniture (at least i am trying to!)….i buy a lot of my work clothes at our local thrift store on 1/2 price wednesdays!!! i can fully admit that i am addicted! xo
I can tell why you love that shop so much! Love the coat on you too :-).
What a wonderful little shop. You’ll find your vintage chair…it might be an old one we used to have! Years ago we had a pair of lime green chairs 🙂 I’m pretty sure they went into a yard sale.
Blessings,
Marcia
totally think i saw you sitting outside starbucks today talking with some dark haired girl! haha. i love that thrift store – i live just a few doors down, so i am always there!!!
haha! yes, that was me sitting outside starbucks! next time, come over and say hi! xo
a lower dresser of some sorts that i can fix up to be our new tv stand in living room.
I’m always looking for antique canning jars and vintage pyrex bowls.
Oh, that really does look like a lovely one! I’ll have to make a note for the next time we’re up that way. That coat is gorg.
This is more of what I found. I was looking for a cute, flattering black skirt, tried a few chain/dept. stores w/no luck. Happened upon a super sweer Banana Rep. pencl skirt at the GW! Along with a tweed BR pencil skirt, an BR car coat in black & few other cute pieces for a grand total of $53!
I always have a vintage treasure hunt list in my mind. Right now, I’m looking for brown leather lace up ankle boots and an upholstered chair for my dorm!
Is it the same wool coat as in the other picture?? I love, love, love that fur collar with it! Yay for you! 🙂
LOVE that coat on you! I’m still in search for a great thrift store near me.
I’m trying to find lamps for a few rooms in our house. I’m really getting tired of the overhead lighting. I think it looks so much cozier at night with a lamp on instead! Love the coat!
I’m always on the lookout for a vintage Tiffany blue strapless dress. I don’t know why, but it’s been in my mind for years. I’m also looking for a gumball machine, globes, and an antique map of Texas. I will find those soon, I know it!
I am going to be on the lookout for clothes, and I would love a pr of broken in boots, but those are hard to find here…plus the really good stores are so far away from me…but today I’m going to check out a new one in my neck of the woods. I love thrifting!
i am also patient…picky too though. i love finding dressers to paint…they are SUCH a great find. excellent storage and you can fit one into almost every room. a pretty display area is the bonus!
Lovely photos. I would love to find either something for my TV or a console/sofa table. Last year I repurposed my console for my TV. Since we are moving, I may see what kind of space I’ll be working with before I commit.
