we went treasure hunting at the new ontology shop downtown
{on monterey near urban outfitters in san luis obispo}
so fun. kind of a mix between vintage and garage sale with lots to discover.
i came away with a globe and a metal ‘L’ from a old sign.
have you found any good treasures lately?
bought a vintage aluminum pom-pom Christmas tree from e-bay. I didn’t make it in time for Christmas due to weather, but I’m putting it up whenever it arrives.
I recently found the coolest old globe….that makes 3 for me. I also found at a garage sale some pearls for .50….. yep the are real!!!! So excited!!!
No treasures – i take that back, I found the cutest candy dishes at The Royal Standard. They were shaped like a leaf and had a wonderful little bird perched on the side. They were only $3.00. I purchased several of them for friends gifts – filled them with hershey kisses and wrapped them up in tissue paper.
Do you have a Royal Standard store near you?
Question – when you go into a store and you take your wonderful pictures do you ask permission first? i also love to take pictures and often see displays in stores that I would love to photograph, but I just am never sure about actually doing it.
Have a very Merry Christmas!
Oh, I’ll have to check that out next time I’m downtown!
$5 world globe @ Goodwill!!
this is my kind of shop…although i shouldn’t actually bring a single thing more into this house. i should open a place like this….and clear out my clutter. oh how i love stuff!
It always weirds me out when I find out that there are more “normal” stores in SLO. When I was there, only Express and Gap to shop at. 🙂 Merry Christmas!
Sweet, sweet photos 🙂 Have a wonderful Christmas!
(I’m a list maker too).
Blessings,
Marcia

a friend of mine gave me a small bottle brush tree that i can see embellishing for next year!! white paint, glitter, and something for the top!
The newest two treasures- a record player/ stereo from my grandparent’s antique shop and an old church pew. We played some Perry Como last night, gotta love that at Christmas time! The pew is now a bench in my living room with plenty of cozy pillows! Love your finds!
ok i just have to get out more! i have lots of plans for when i get a working camera! amazing how pretty downtown slo is!
No good treasures for me, though we don’t have a ton of thrift stores or neat stores like what you have in CA over in VA. Happy Holidays Lisa & Family! 😉
