  1. Hi, my son Josh has RTS. He is 22 years old now. He has learned to use a communication app called Proloquo2Go on his iPad. If you are interested in more information, please email me.

  2. So sweet! I loved watching your video and how you just take life in stride and go with the punches. He seems like such a sweet little guy. After losing our son, Ethan, to cancer at just 4 1/2, I appreciate everything in life just so much more. May GOD bless your family!

  3. Just recently discovered your blog and really enjoying your life and jewellery. I cannot see the video or even a link for the video – has it been removed? Just curious as I am a little behind as I have been away!

  4. Hey Lisa, what a beautiful video – so cute. I have the privilege of spending my mornings with kids who communicate in different ways – and it’s not hard once you get to know them that they have very strong personalities, likes, dislikes, and loves just like all of us. David looks like a very happy boy, and he’s so lucky to have such a loving mommy – you guys are so great. So glad to get to know you.

    love Jill

  5. Hi Lisa!

What camera do you use? How do you get you’re photographs to look so cool? Could you make a video showing us the program you use and how to transform ordinary pictures?

    Thank you!

  6. What a doll! This video made me cry (happy tears), it’s so cute!

My question would have to be: How do you do it? 2 active boys, a business, a house that looks amazing, plus who knows what else and you’re always smiling in pictures and sounding positive and energetic. What’s your secret? 🙂

  7. I’ve followed your blog for a long time and from your words about david and pictures I’ve always assumed that he spoke. Your family is so filled with love and I think you are one amazing mom!!! Thanks for sharing.

  8. Thanks for sharing! I am really loving the answering questions video.

We have a special needs child and shealso communicates differently. It is certainly a journey…but I would not have it any other way.

Does David have a syndrome? Our daughter has Rubinstein Taybi Syndrome.

Much love to you…and to precious David.
    Kelly

  9. thank you for sharing your video! i have been a reader of your blog for quite some time, but i guess i didn’t realize that david couldn’t speak. he seems like a very amazing little guy!

  10. Thanks for letting us get to know David! You all seem to have a joy for life that is contagious. Thank you for sharing that with your blog fans.

p.s. Matty looks awesome in his glasses – my son just got similar ones!

  11. Lisa- I, too am an SLP, and I am sure that David is hard at work building his communication system. I love the fact that you focus on what David CAN DO! What a great video. Thanks for sharing and making me smile! I know that you are counting your blessings and smiling a lot!

  12. Hi, Lisa! Just wondered if David is working with a speech-language pathologist? We work with kids who are non-verbal, not just kids who need a little help saying “r” or remembering which pronoun to use. Such a sweet little guy and you’re obviously doing great with him but he might have even more to communicate and an SLP might be able to help him get even more of his message across. Regardless, he’s a charmer!

  13. Lisa thanks so much for sharing special things with people you don’t even know, You have a BEAUTIFUL family! David is so sweet. Psalm 127:3. You inspire me everyday ;). I was reading the Bible the book of Proverbs Ch.31 v.10-31 you came to mind and the other wonderful women in my life who teach me by their example 🙂 XOXO

  14. super sweet!!! what a true joy he is 🙂

  16. What a precious blessing. I would say that David is lucky to have you guys but I think it’s the other way around.

  17. i love these videos you are doing Lisa, so fun and this one is especially sweet. and i’m gonna have that song in my head all day now…. but that’s okay! : ) happy tuesday!

  18. So for some strange reason I am drawn to you. I LOvE your blog and catching up on the things going on in your life. “MmmBop” is a classic in my book as well. Great choice to go with your sweet video!

  19. Loved your video- hes so sweet and full of life! Just wondering if you sign with him at all. We started signing with our little guy Sam (who has down Syndrome) when he was about 9 months old. We still laugh that his his first word (while sitting in his high chair) was “mo” while he signed the word more. And he STILL loves to eat!
    Thanks for all your inspiration!

P.S. hubby got the hint for our silver anniversary- love my word of the year necklace!

  20. What a beautiful family. You are all so very special. Thanks for sharing.

I do have one question for you though… how do you get everything done in a day?

  21. David is adorable! God hand selected you to be his very special parents! You are very lucky to have each other!

    Patty from TX

        1. I agree with these ladies. You were chosen to be this sweet little boy’s parents for a reason. You’re very lucky! 🙂

  22. what a sweet little peanut you have…looks like he and Matty bring lots of joy to your home!

    Thanks for sharing:)

  23. What a sweet video! I love when people communicate with their hearts instead of their mouths. Sometimes it just means so much more. This morning my middle schooler got “mouthy” before we went off to school and we were both a little frustated with each other. My little prayer was answered when he called me to bring a paper up to the school and I had the opportunity to hug him and tell him how awesome I believe that he is. The way he looked at me and hugged me meant more than words can say. I love the way you LOVE your kids. Wish the whole world could be that way.
