My husband gave me your Family Tree pendant necklace for my birthday last year, and I absolutely adore it (and wear it almost every day!). Thank you for creating such beautiful things!

  5. Okay, for real.I got tears at the end! The blog world is amazing to me. I mean had tears! For a boy I don’t know. But the JOY in his face at the end was so awesome!!!

  6. ahh wonderful… you made me cry and laugh at the same time. Seems like only yesterday we were going through that phase. Just wait until he’s driving a car…

  8. {Precious}. I loved your editing and the complete and utter joy on Matthias’s face when he finally nailed it. The chest bump was the best part. What a beautiful moment to have captured!

  9. Just loved the video, what precious footage, great memory-making moments 🙂 ps my hubby taught the kids to ride, by riding in the grass, easier landings! ~C

  10. This video will someday make the most wonderful gift for the very fortunate girl who will join your family by way of becoming his wife…

  11. I am so glad I am not the only one that said they had tears. 🙂 The end where your husband is running right along side him to give him the confidence that he is there with him, while not actually holding on was so priceless! Loved it!

  12. LOVE this!!! My 5-year old daughter just got it yesterday after weeks of diligent trying. The look on her face when she realized she could do it by herself was priceless. Only problem, now I can’t get her off her bike…which is problematic here in the Pacific NW where we get a lot of spring rain.

  13. I remember so well- those days…. *I have five children. They’re grown (18 to 28 years old now) Today it’s learnig to ride a bike (and he did it so well!) Tomorrow, it’s the Learner’s Permit! Think I’m crazy??? NO WAY! Ask anyone whose been there. POOF! It passes that quickly! I love that you cherish each milestone. Way to go Matty! Good JOB, Daddy!

  14. hi lisa! just wanted to tell you that i’m your newest follower – so glad to be here! also, this comment font is so fun to type in….it makes me just want to keep typing and typing and typing….lol have a great day! 🙂

  15. You go, Matthias!
We were doing the very same thing last weekend! We are finally making some progress although teaching how to ride a bike isn’t easy. I almost think I may prefer potty training… and that wasn’t easy either.

  16. Lisa, about five years ago, (my boys were four and six) we moved from a neighborhood to a farm in the country that we had owned since we got married. We sold our big house and went to live in the little 1500 sq foot home on 22 acres and simplify life. I went part time (nurse) and got to stay home with my boys more. The day we moved our boys got their bikes out (that they had never ridden) and taught each other to ride their bikes that very afternoon. It was like watching two flowers bloom. They were so dirty from playing in the barn and rolling in the grass that i made them take their clothes off at the back door and come in and take a bath that night. They were so worn out i think they slept for about eleven hours! I love this video of Matthias! Made me laugh and think of my two little ones learning to ride bikes. Give him a high five for me!

  17. this really is awesome! yeah matthias! took my big girl until she was 7 to have “nerve” to make this happen.

  18. The.best.ever. Beautiful moment. Beautiful video. Matthias’ expression of surprise/pride at his accomplishment killed me! So great. 🙂

  19. LOL! This is sooo neat! I love the way you edited it! How did you edit it without the sound but with the song? I can’t figure it out!

Anyway, so neat and I love your sense of humor!

  20. Awesome! Home many times has that exact scenario played out — with Dad hanging on to the back of the bike, and the child trying again and again! Love it!

  21. Okay, that’s it, you TOTALLY made my day 🙂 I am smiling from ear to ear and my eyes are pooling with happy tears – thank you. GO MATTHIAS GO!

Maybe, just maybe, someday i’ll have something from your shop!

  23. precious. brought tears to my eyes. makes me so excited to think of all the fun things we will do as my son (19 months) grows up.
p.s. i love that matthias is always rockin his rain boots!! 🙂

  24. LOVED it!!! I made my 5 yr old watch this…on our agenda today? TO BE A CHAMP and learn to ride without training wheels. Thanks for the motivation!!!
