Hello friends! This weekend I snuck away for dinner with my sisters in Ojai {about 30 miles inland from Santa Barbara} and we stayed the night. Then I woke up early and made it back in time for church and a chili cook off. It was a full weekend–and lots of fun.
I’ve got pictures to share from Ojai. It’s a sweet little town full of art, some cute shops and some small hotels. My favorite shop was Fig–full of succulents and handmade items. So much inspiration! The time with my sisters was good for my soul. We talked laughed and ate good food. Pretty much perfect, right?
How about some hellos for a new week?

Hi Lisa! This is my first time visiting your website/blog and just wanted to say “What a small world…”
Today I Googled “weddings on a small budget” and came across your article from last year on Huffington Post. I liked what you wrote and visited your website. Then I see this post about Ojai and how you were with your sisters at Azu. Well, I was at Azu this past weekend too, at a table behind you… getting proposed to! I remember looking at your table and thinking, “Wow, all those ladies have fabulous curly hair; they must be related!” 😀
Um, that is CRAZY!!!! Congratulations. And yes, it is such a small world. {And what a fun restaurant to have a your proposal spot!!}
Loooove Ojai and love your hello mondays 🙂
I am saying hello to fall! love this idea!

Hello to Halloween fun this week! Love kids in costumes….they always make me smile. 🙂
The husband & I were hoping for an Ojai getaway next month, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. 🙁
Love Ojai, very laid-back and they have an awesome bookstore that I’m dying to visit. Oh well…maybe we’ll get there next year!
I hope you at least get an awesome date night!! xx
Ahh I’m glad you liked our little valley up in the mountains. It has lots of layers of fun. Love Fig too. Always fun to explore new places. If you ever head his way again and need a list I’d be happy to set you up.
Thank you Pam! I’d love to know your favorite restaurants. We had dessert at Azu. xx
I’d say the curly hair runs in the family! I had to do a double take to figure out which one was you 🙂

Sister time, Ojai Valley Inn, discovering new shops, great food and conversation…what more can you ask for? I think it’s great that you and Steve give each other time away to spend with your other loved ones!
Sister time is the best 🙂 http://thelinarstudio.typepad.com/embracelife/2013/10/hello-monday-91.html
Fun sister time! I have no sisters (biologically speaking) but I’ve been so blessed to have lots of sister time (spiritually speaking) with girlfriends as of late. Always fills me up. I definitely need to make it out to the west coast one of these days. It seems that these cute little eclectic, artsy shops are everywhere! So fun to get time with your sisters…all four of you have the most fabulous hair. 🙂
Hello to a day at the farm, a big marketplace week and managing stress, saying happy 99th to a special lady and favorite soups and breads: http://happylittlelovelies.com/2013/10/28/hello-monday-the-market-week-sassy-bread-and-soup-version/
And I just realized that this is the Ojai they were always talking about on the show Brothers and Sisters. Did you ever watch that?
I never watched it! Easy A {the movie} was shot in Ojai. xx
