Your jewelry is beautiful! I love it! The best bit of wisdom I ever got was “someday someone is going to walk into your life and make you realize why it never worked out with anyone else”. It was and still is a really encouraging statement for me. I completely believe in it!

Lisa, my sister in law (Michele Bedsaul) and I ordered a necklace (the mixed charm one…can’t think of the name) for Christmas and it truly stopped my heart when I opened the package. This necklace totally looks so much like my friend Julie so I’ve called her husband to have him check it out! 😉 I love it too, but then again what of yours do I NOT love? 😉

wisdom? happy mom=happy kids. realize you can’t do it all and that your whole family will be happier if you don’t make yourself crazy trying to be perfect. i tell myself this EVERYDAY…and try to live it! ADORABLE necklace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hoot hoot!

I just ordered this for a friend’s birthday and I have to admit it was a hard gift to give b/c I wanted one for myself.
It is baseball season in Texas and here is my words of wisdom – No matter how badly you want to help, do not join a board of a sporting group (I hope that doesn’t sound too bitter). Stay a parent and enjoy watching your child(ren) learn how to play a sport and be a teammate.

One bit of advice my dad gave me – spend time with your children; listen to them, talk with them, hug them and just be with them. The time we take and the foundations we build now will last a lifetime.

I love this necklace in particular! My mom passed away very suddenly, and when she gave me advice, she always told me that I should listen to the “Wise Old Owl.” I have to tell you, she wasn’t old, but she was very wise. Since her passing, I see owls everywhere, a reminder that she is with me still. I’d love a chance to win this necklace to keep Mom close to my heart.

I’m sitting here holding my sleeping infant son and thinking that the wisest words I’ve heard (and that mommas of young children can get tired of hearing) is to enjoy these times because they’ll soon be gone. When I can’t get any work done because I don’t have two (or one) hands free or when my three year old doesn’t want me to leave her at night and asks for just one more cuddle when I want to rush off for me time, I try to remember how much I’ll look back on this and wish for one more nap in my arms or cuddle at bedtime.

love owls….they are just so fun and make me happy! something i have learned lately is that we are given trials to help make us better people. sometimes we don’t know why we have to go through certain trials, but they are to help us and there is a God who really does know and understand and loves us. He also always knows what is best! I recently lost my baby…I was 31 weeks pregnant and at the time it was really hard, but now, I can see how blessed I am and am so happy that I have a great family and can still have children.

How about “always speak to someone the way you would like to be spoken to.” It’s amazing how we can speak to those we love when we are hurt or angry…take a deep breath and remember how much you love them before you get the chance to hurt them.

Wisdom: Never trust spell check. Always feed your husband to prevent crankiness. Let little boys run outside often to avoid broken furniture. Take naps. Eat Cookies.

When I find myself stressing about something, I stop and ask myself if it is so important that is would be an epitaph on my headstone. And when the answer is “no”, I stop the stressing. Just ask yourself if what you’re worked up about is so important that people will remember it in a year or a month or even a day. And most times, the answer is no…it will never be remembered. But how you deal with the stress will be. Puts a whole new perspective on things.

Wisdom: Let go sometimes…we aren’t all perfect sometimes we just have to let it go

“Let it go!”–this is a phrase I remind my family (and myself) at least once each day–we have a tendency to hang on to things (anger, bitterness, hurt, etc.) when it is so much better just to let it go.

My one piece of advice is this, “Listen to your mom.” My mom, Hootie, always has the BEST advice. For far too long, and even still occasionally, I think I have a better understanding of things, but inevitably, my mom does know best. My teenage boys and husband even go to her for advice–advice on problems, home improvement projects, and God-stuff! Grandma Hootie rocks! You gotta love Grandma Hootie’s good ole Southern wisdom!

My words of wisdom- take time for the important things like daily talks with Jesus, time for your children and husband and call your mother.

I {LOVE} it!!!!!!! My words of wisdom would be to never take anything for granted. Live each day to the fullest!

Regularly reevaluate your priorities. It’s easy for them to gradually slide in a direction you didn’t intend, and without reevaluating those and making adjustments, you could have a lot of regrets.

I’ve been crazy for owls lately. This is by far my favorite piece. I love it!
My favorite scripture is about this very thing (wisdom).
Proverbs 4:7,8. Nothing I could come up with could top that.

My advice would be to enjoy each day because time flies! In other words, I can’t believe that I almost have a teenager on my hands as the oldest and my youngest will be going to kindergarten next year! The days have just flown by and sometimes I feel like I didn’t enjoy those “younger years” enough!

I’m getting sad thinking about that so I now need to think about how cute that new necklace is….I love it and since owls are the craze around our house right now (my 3rd grader had to make & write a paper on an animal and she chose an owl) it would be wooooonderful! Thanks!

4. Enjoy each moment, mess and miracle with your kids. They are grown and gone far, far too fast.

Though we all go through trials and seasons of turmoil, us overcoming that season is someone else’s HOPE in the future.

My friend Annie told me this when I was going through one of the roughest seasons of my life and it gave me the strength to get through. God has totally used what I went through to help so many amazing women around me. I’m so blessed to know that He can and will always turn everything around for our good.

Very fun necklace, my grandmother used to decorate her house in owls, so my piece of advice comes from her – You can never tell your children “I love you” too much!

Wisdom – my son and I are both pig headed and have to get the last word in. My husband is a gentle giant and always says to me “do you want to be happy or do you want to be right”. I always keep that phrase in the back of my mind with I disagree with something – it’s not always worth the fight.

Such a sweet necklace! My words of wisdom lately have been to enjoy the moment, especially with the kids. They are growing up so quickly and one day, they will be gone. Sad to think of, but we are truly trying to enjoy each moment they bring to us.

I have a simple little owl I picked up at a flea market. He is perched on a table in our family room. I added a framed quote on an easel next to him that says “A wise old owl sat on an oak; The more he saw the less he spoke; The less he spoke the more he heard; Why aren’t we like that wise old bird?”
Isn’t that the coolest quote? Hard to live by though!

This necklace would be perfect since all three of my babies will be out of the nest soon. Oldest son is a senior in college and will graduate in May. Younger son will leave in May for Air Force Basic training. And our baby girl, will graduate from high school and be attending a University 250 miles away where the mascot is guess what? An owl!

Whooo would appreciate the necklace? ME!

I love this! My oldest is so into owls right now and this is adorable. Dont’ know that i can offer much wisdom other than just to take every day as it comes, minute by minute. At least in my world, it’s bound to change back and forth that quickly so I can’t dwell on how good (or bad) it is at any one time. I just have to enjoy it as it comes!

Lisa you just keep getting better and better. I absolutely love this piece. It is my favorite thing you have ever done. Owls hold a special place in my heart. My dad started this little “hootie hoo” saying when I was little. Then it passed on to my best friend who is like my sister. We would always say hootie hoo to each other as a term of endearment. Now we get each other little owl gifts whenever we can find them, a doormat, a jewelry dish, a candle, cards, etc. Her oldest child is talking now and I had her saying it…She was saying ” hoot hoot”. We even had a special visitor one Christmas Eve at my grandparents house…A beautiful white snow owl sat on the cornucopia. I would love to have the hootie hoo necklace for my “sister” Meghan. Here is my little boy’s favorite piece of wisdom- “you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit!”

This is a two part piece of wisdom. My word of the year is better. So my piece of wisdom is always try to better yourself and be better than you are. For me that means being more productive at work, working out more, staying organized etc.

My little bit of wisdom: Never make a promise you can’t keep. My mom always said that when I was little. : )
This is fabulous, I just love it!

With a 7 month old at home, I have learned very quickly (and I try to remember…) to pay attention to each little moment; there is something special happening always, and you don’t want to miss it for the things that aren’t important (laundry, housework, dinner!:-) )

I have this reminder on my blog and it is a reminder for me each day:

“The biggest mistake I made [as a parent] is the one that most of us make. . . . I did not live in the moment enough. This is particularly clear now that the moment is gone, captured only in photographs. I love owls. They seem calm in their demeanor. Watching, learning and responding with a comforting “whoo”. I have pictures of owls in my home and they remind me to watch and react softly always remembering “who” my children are, “who” I am and “Who” entrusted them to my care.
