the tree is up, it smells like cinnamon and the house is almost orderly (at least momentarily). a tree with white twinkling lights is my favorite…with a cozy blanket and a cup of cocoa. tomorrow i’ll break out the stockings and the manger scene. what’s your favorite way to decorate for the holidays?
You have a beautiful family and I love your Christmas decorations. It looks so cozy!
I’m with you. I love white lights. Had to tell you that I love the dump truck among the poinsettia. You can always tell a house with little boys!
OK…the pointsettia plant in the truck is too adorable.
I love bright white lights with greenery around my front door and a huge wreath with white lights above the door on the window.
My tree…white lights and lots of red decor!
I love to create an attractive display on the fireplace mantle.
Beautiful! Christmas is the best, isn’t it? And way to go DAVID on the cup!! I am just falling in love with that little guy!
the poinsetta in the tonka truck is soooo wonderful!
Pretty, pretty!
I love to hang up my kids “Baby’s First Christmas” stockings for decoration…even though my oldest will be 18 in two days!
Your room looks so warm and cozy! Our tree is pre-lit with white lights, sometimes we add some colored lights. Our ornaments are the ones we’ve collected through the years and now that we have children they include ones such as Clifford and Cars and things the kids are into. So much fun to pull them all out and put them on the tree. We still haven’t done any decorating or even have our tree out yet but we will this weekend.
I love your silver wreath!! Gorgeous!! My favorite part of Christmas decorating is the clean and yet glamorous look of white lights. Hot chocolate, fire place, making homemade cinnamon popcorn and watching classic Christmas movies with the kids!
Many Blessings and Love to you and your family this month!!!!
Hi Lisa, we use white lights too that we ABSOLUTELY love!! But we did put red lights around our kitchen which is kind of cool. Your house is beautiful and I hope that you and your family have a wonderful holiday!!
Oh! Cozy Christmas!
For us decorating means books! Since my kids are such huge book lovers getting out all of the Christmas books has become a big part of “decorating”.
Thanks for sharing your Chistmas beginnings…
oh I LOVE your decorations – that silver ball wreath and the poinsettas…ahhhh! in complete agreement about the white lights. and as you requested – our decorating: our tree has ornaments from long ago (I was so excited last year to spot an ornament on my tree that was on my parent’s tree on my 2nd christmas! and there are snowflakes that my grandmother – who passed away nearly 20 years ago – tatted) and ones we’ve collected as a family. one of my favorite parts of the holiday is unwrapping all the ornaments and decorating the tree. best wishes for a wonderful holiday with your family!
You have such a great eye for design!
My tree too has white lights with lots of ornaments from years gone by, lots of red, white, and splashes of green, blue, purple and gold. I have all my packages wrapped in matching papers. This year reds and whites. All the packages are tied with ribbon. No store bought bows! Last but now least tons of stuff that says -“MERRY CHRISTMAS!” Since it is after all – CHRISTMAS! Hope yours is Merry!
We try to do bit every day here, although our tree and nativity aren’t up yet. (We’re still in the trying to get orderly stage!) :0)
Looks lovely! We are not getting a tree this year due to budgeting, but really my favorite decoration is my nativity set which is already up on the buffet!
We do decorate a lot outside since my child LOVES lights and those silly inflatables. I still have work to do on that!
Lovely house and the look is so warm and cozy you feel you NEED the blanket to live there!, lol…
So fun. I can’t wait to see it!
After years of white lights, my youngest, 6, asked if we could please go with colored lights on the tree this year. I agreed to grant his wish. It takes some getting used to and I may go back to white next year, but we’re loving the change for now. It’s just darker than the white lit tree.
Have to have my kids handprints from every Christmas since their birth in a prominent place. The nativity scenes are prominent also. My tree skirt was made in 1986 by my grandmother who passed away in 2006. I’ve used it every year since she made it. I also have some stockings she crocheted. Lots of things!
I love your silver wreath!! We too have all white lights, both on the tree and outside! Love it!!
So pretty! I love simple, sparkly decorations 🙂 My tree has white lights too, with lots and lots of colorful ornaments — mostly vintage or sentimental in some way.
