the cousins love to be together–except when they are fighting. four silly, hungry, tired and excited kiddos needed to get out of the house-so we grabbed sweaters and went to montana do oro. steve taught a short ‘how-to-safely-throw-a-rock’ lesson so no one got smacked in the head. then helped the kids climb the sloped hillside and into the cave. david gave big smooches and played with the rocks. we stopped at rite aid on the way home for ice cream. happy saturday.
Does Rite Aid still have Chocolate Malted Crunch? We used to walk there after school (uhm…like 25 years ago) when it was still Thrifty’s. THE BEST! Moving to Boston I miss that and In-N-Out…nostalgia!
Montana De Orro is a very special place to my soul. I often went there for alone time (relfection and prayer) I often would nestle myself in a little spot, get out bible and read for a bit. I remember a particilar day when I was there litterally sobbing in complete and utter heart brokeness (I had just called off a wedding). Just as I finally collected myself and was getting ready to go, two grey whales migrating north came into view. For some reason I suddenly no longer felt so alone next to a huge vast ocean. The person I missed at the time (my mother) was 350 miles south from where I stood. Perhaps a bit rediculous, but it was comforting knowing they had just come from my home town. Montana De Orro is one of the most beautiful places I know. Thank you for sharing your adventures from a little quaint area I know so well and miss so dearly. Today is a good day 🙂
Just wanted to let you know I just received my first order the Open Circle necklace and I LOVE it. I didn’t want to take it off last night when I went to bed. I can hardly wait to place my next order. I think my wishlist list has every item you make. Have a great weekend.

Yummy for ice cream!! It is nice to have a close-knit family.
Wonderful pictures capturing a wonderful time. Love sisters!
I sure can see a family resemblance between you & your sister! How fun! My sister & I take after opposite sides of the family and look nothing alike.
Rite Aid ice cream! I thought we were the only ones who ate it! So yummy and cheap, right?!
Ohhh that heart shaped rock definitely reminds me of my mom! She has collected them for about 3 decades now, from river beds & beaches all over the US. She has them on display in a cabinet at her house & it’s so fun to watch guests look through them for the first time. Some of them look SO much like hearts, you would think she had carved them or something, ha ha! 🙂
What a fun thing to do with the kids. I know our little grandkids love throwing rocks at the beach.

THAT’S a happy Saturday. Montano do Oro is such a beautiful place to explore. It’s been a long time since I’ve been there. How fun to have the cousins around and hang out like that. And, of course, to have your sis with you. Nice.
