live. last night. it was so amazing!! he is my favorite singer/songwriter and it was so fun to see him in person. we stood right in front of the stage. there were a couple college girls next to me *freaking* out and although i felt the same way inside, i tried to play it cool. and i bought a tee shirt, which i am wearing today, and steve is mocking me. i’m a dork–i admit it!! if you don’t know his music, find out more about him HERE. buy his new CD, it’s wonderful!! happy saturday.
Make sure to check out this week’s New Times! Glen Starkey wrote about Joshua in his music column and it is hillll-arious!
Thank you for posting his website link–beautiful lyrics, sound. I find myself teary-eyed, as I have just lost a friend to cancer, and his lyrics are contemplative and life-affirming. Thank you again.
i saw him perform in manhattan a few weeks ago and he was gorgeous. and (the best part) ingrid michaelson surprised the crowd and i went crazy. they are so so so beautiful together.
Love him! Saw him last summer in Albuquerque, NM and am actually listening to his new album right this second! I even bought my son a Josh Radin, signed onesie. π
He is so great! I saw his last year in Albuquerque, NM and am actually listening to his new album right this second! I bought my son a Josh Radin onesie! Love him!
i LOVE his music! his voice is SO dreamy! i am definitely jealous.
hey jen, thanks for your thoughts. i am definitely biased since i love his music so much! meiko was great that night!
I love his music and am so jealous that you got to see him! I’m thinking a Joshua Radin inspired piece is in order.
I was at that show, too! I actually went to see Meiko (i had never even heard of her until a few days prior…my friends told me about her music) and so i honestly had no idea who josh was. π I have to be honest and say that i was turned off by his attitude. I realize that people in the way back were being rude, but it’s a BAR, on a friday night, in a college town…i’m not sure what he expected. (And the final straw was when he used the f-word against them.)
There were many of us sitting to the side in the booths, and we weren’t able to hear his “unplugged” songs just b/c he was trying to punish the people in back. Anyway, sorry for the negative comment, but there are too many great musicians out there for me to spend any money on this guy’s music. I think he lost quite a few fans that night…
you lucky girl! i too love JR! I’m so jealous!
Ah, lucky you! I love his music ;-}
you’re such a groupie!
I’m on his site right now and he has such a nice voice and style! Great stuff! I bet he’ll be really successful. Thanks for the link!
Wow, that was amazing self control, I would have been losing it right along with the teen girls. I have to admit, I feel this way about John Mayer, too. I think he’s an a-hole as a person, but I like his music, and he’s fun to see in concert. I went to one last year, and there was this fiftysomething woman next to me who’d had too much to drink, and at one point she leaned over to me and said, “I’ve never been so horny in my entire life.” Oooooh-k.
Lisa, I tagged you over at my blog with this fun picture tag gameβit involves posting a photo, so I thought of you (promise, it’s not annoying). Scroll down blah-blah to the end.
i just found out about him about a month ago by using Pandora{dot}com. i’ve fallen in love with his music and got so excited for about 5 min when i realized he was coming to SLO. then i remembered that (sadly) i don’t live there any more and it just wasn’t going to work to make the trip down there. so glad you enjoyed the concert!! wish i could have gone.
oh good! i needed the reminder because I’ve been wanted to download the CD ever since Blissdom!
joy, he got really frustrated because there was so much talking in the bar area. he kept asking for them to quiet down and it never really quieted. finally he unplugged (which was awesome for us in the front, but stunk for everyone else!). the music was amazing and i loved seeing him perform. i felt that the people in the bar area were thoughtless as they refused to keep it down! regardless, i had a blast!!
oooo, what a lovely voice he has.
Okay, so I had a friend who went last night and said it was terrible–that he was being really rude and had major attitude. But, she did say he was nice to the people up front. How fun that you went! See?–I’ve always said you’re so cool and you went to a concert on a Friday night in a college town at a local brewery. You rock! π
