  2. Boy I have so many that I could use but the first thing the came to me was Family. If not for them I would be nothing. And even if I have nothing I still have them.
I am having a hard time picking another necklace from your collection but I think this is in the tops right now!
    That and the x’s & o’s necklace….

  3. I think you’ve already had this but my word is Gratitude – it’s the first thing I think of when I think about my little family.

  4. My word is “Its all about the Dash” Trying to make a difference in this world while we are here. The time between when we are born and Die. The Dash.

  5. Wow…I’ve seen this crop up so many places today…maybe God is trying to tell me something? 🙂

My word is “CHANGE”, but I’m going to pray a little more and make sure!

  6. Oddly enough, my word is COURAGE. Imagine my surprise when I saw the necklace you’ve got posted above!

I’m so excited to be doing the WORD thing for 2009.

  7. I pick “unfinished”
    I am unfinished
    the laundry is unfinished
    the school work is unfinished
EVERYTHING is unfinished, but it’s not a bad thing because it’s the work and the progress and the unfinished results that train our character to that of a contented soul. Knowing it’s not going to be finished until I am in Heaven, makes it all okay. It makes the laundry and the dishes and the school and the mess all okay. It keeps it all in perspective. This life is short, our eternity is, eternal. So for this life, unfinished is my word to remind me to keep working, keep striving but never beat myself up for what simply can not get done.

  8. super rad idea! My word of the year…well it’s too hard to think of just one…but I posted 10 on my blog. I too decided to make my resolutions words that encompass many things that will be going on (or that I would like to work on) during 2009.

    That necklace is just beautiful!

  9. today i would pick faithful, because God is always faithful. but i wonder if i would pick a different word tomorrow. this might be one of those necklaces where you have a different one for each day of the week, lisa! i just love the simple beauty of it!

  10. it is so hard to pick just one word.
i still love “soar.” but lately i have been thinking “immeasurable.” i know, it’s a long one. but the word makes me think of the scripture, “and i pray you would have power together with all the saints to grasp how wide and long, and high, and deep is the love of God…”
it’s “immeasurable,” and i want to live in that, and spill that.
    pretty necklace as always.
    happy new year!

  11. My word for 2009 is “POSITIVE” because I feel it is essential to start off with a day with positive comment about yourself or a thing. For instance, when I wake up in the morning, I would think about three small things I am grateful such as: I’m glad the pencil is not broken, I have a bed, or my love ones is healthy.” Certainly, it motivates to start the day without being so grumpy or negative at all times. Using this word reminds me to think of good things.

  12. believe…I am hoping to change my out look on the world and my “in look” on myself. Believing that we can all do great things and that God creates everything for the good.

  13. My word would be “HOPE” God’s been showing me truth about hope. The Bible says, “hope does not disappoint. For 10 years I have “hoped” God would do something specific in my life. But my hope was greatly disappointed as God did not answer like I thought He would. Obviously, my “hope” was in the wrong place. It was in an answer and not in Him, alone. 🙂 Maybe I’ll get one of those necklaces as a reminder.

  14. The word I picked to live by this year is SHINE as in let my light so shine or to let the love of God shine from me. As far as a word on a necklace though I think BLESSED is an awful good one. It would be like telling everyone that you are blessed; kind of like hanging a label aroung your neck. I think your necklaces are beautiful. I have never seen them before but saw your link on Ali Edwards’ blog.

  15. Just ordered one, Lisa…and the word for this year is – Miracle. Last year it was Blessed and indeed, my year was blessed. Thank you for your wonderful inspirational pieces.

  16. Wow…I’ve been looking at your stuff for months and this is what I’m going to treat myself with for the New Year. I’m still working on my word. Any suggestions out there? My husband was laid off from work last year for 6 months and it took all we had to keep things going. He’s got a great job now, but for a lot less money. I’m applying for a job with my church that I really want-it’s to run the children’s ministry. So I’m going to come up with the perfect word by the New Year. Thanks for your talent that brings so much joy!

  17. Thanks for making me think. I would have to say my word for the year is LEARN!
It covers so many aspects of life right now!
    Have a wonderful New Years!!

  18. Strength, Hope, Courage, Peace, Joy, Contentment…there are too many for me to choose. However if I had to choose it would be Truth. Hope your Christmas was Blessed. Miss you and want to catch up soon.

  19. What a lovely necklace and an inspiring post. My word, like Summer’s, is “Hope.” Hope because it’s what I need for my little Max, all the time. I’m only getting around to posting our Lisa Leonard-inspired vacation photos tomorrow, come check them out. Happy, happy New Year!!!

  20. Well my word would definitely be “courage”, for my parents who are having to put my sister in a group home after 30 years on January 2nd. It is going to be the hardest day they will face, and I don’t know what I can do for them. It’s going to take a lot of courage, but is going to bring a lot of sadness. On the brighter side they need the time to themselves for being the troopers that they are!!!

  21. It was not easy to choose a single word for this year. This year has been a roller coaster from the joy of working this summer at an inner city mission to the frustration of a serious medical issue this fall/winter that has greatly limited me recently. So my word that I selected is “Believe” – belief that all things are possible, belief in the amazing kids that I want desperately to return to teaching, belief that there is a plan and a purpose, belief that the new year will be better.

  22. I am still trying to choose my word….a few that I have thought of that apply to my life. BALANCE–in trying to find more balance in my life. I work too hard. REPLENISH–trying to put back in even half of what I give out so that I can continue to do my job at 110%.

  23. Love it – my word would be SIMPLE. It’s how I am trying to live – and it’s a daily struggle in this world. One of these days I will pick a piece for my very own — every time I pick my favorite, you go and design something I like even more!! How do you do that?! Happy New Year Lisa!

  24. Some one already took my word – BLESSED – This year we were blessed with our little preemies’ birth. She was only 2 pounds 2 ounces, but now is a whopping (still tiny)17 pounds. She is 11 months old and today has another bout of RSV. We know how BLESSED we are to have her in our lives.

  25. Those are beautiful! I think my word would be patience… I’m in dire need of a reminder to work on it!

I’ve been checking out your site & blog for a while, I’m trying to decide on which necklace to order to symbolize my kids – you do beautiful work! I ordered a keychain for my husband a few months ago and he loves it. Keep up the good work!

  26. My word for 2009: BLESSED

Last week when I was thanking God for giving us the girl we desired after 2 boys, I was praying very humbly… telling Him “we didn’t deserve this blessing….”

And I distinctly heard a still small voice say…

    “why? why not bless you?”

And I was totally comforted by the fact, that even though we do not deserve blessings, God enjoys bestowing them.

  27. My word would be persevere…I have goals for my self and for my health that I want to achieve. I also need to be the best mom that I can to my three kids because my husband is away at work so much. So, I need to keep my goals in mind and persevere.

  28. My word is love. If I remember to treat everyone with love, then my world will be that much happier.

Lisa, your photos are just amazing!!! You have become an excellent photographer!!

  29. I wanted to suggest that you send a note to scrapbooker Ali Edwards. Every year, she encourages folks to pick a word to live by. I imagine she’d be happy to add a link to your necklace. She is very generous in that way and has a large readership. I be it would do a lot for your sales.

My word is patience. I have a special needs son. I sometimes worry and want to rush to the place where we’ve mastered new skills. Out of fear, I sometimes forget that he has his own timetable. Patience is the word I need to live with intention this year.

  30. Oh! That is lovely! The first word that came to my mind was FAMILY, lots of changes for us (oh, maybe CHANGE should be my word…) and we are going to need to stick together through it all! Very beautiful, i am going to link to you later today if that is ok!

  31. My word of the year is STRENGTH, and It’s a word that will give me strength and courage and remind me that I am okay, that it’s okay to be me. For Christmas, my aunt purchased one of your petite circle necklaces with the word strength on it for me and I love it! 🙂

  32. My word for 2009 has to be FAITH because I have to have faith that my unemployed husband will be able to find a job (at age 60, this is difficult) so that we will be able to stay in our home. I have low times and must remember that it takes faith and all will be as it is meant to be. Lovely design Lisa. I adore your work. My niece wears the piece you made her every day!!
    Cheryl Sims

  33. My word would be COMPASSION.

I need to show more of it towards a family member who isn’t living like he/she should.

    I love the necklace!
