man i am such a grump today! not even my polka dot rain boots or the sun coming out after a rainy morning is lifting my mood. time for drastic measures–a bowl of cereal and a snuggle nap with david. how do you get your self out of a grumpy mood??
Iced coffee helps, ditto for just getting online and blogging/reading other blogs. Sometimes, hearing stuff that other people are going through puts your own life in perspective, you know?
i teach first grade and when i turn into a real grump, i try to laugh at something, or make light of a situation. all of the sudden, we’re all laughing together.
I highly recommend a snuggle session with your snuggle-bug. Then, a big cup of tea and a big chocolate chip cookie!
Other things that work…a visit to Home Goods or Mashalls and finding a great piece for your home. I spent almost 2 hours roaming around Home Goods yesterday. It was so fun!
I listen to Sandi Patti’s song “Another Place, Another Time.” I think it came out in the 80’s, but it is a favorite of mine, and I just can’t feel sorry for myself when I think of heaven… Destiny
Lisa – I make jewelry when I am grumpy! I also knit like crazy. I definitely light a yummy candle and get quiet. Of course it doesn’t hurt when my maltese, Maggie, curls up with me!
Looks like you tried it but getting outside with the kids does the trick for me every time! Hard to do when it is SO cold… so art projects are coming to the rescue lately!
Hot steamy bubble bath, lights out with lots of candles burning and relaxing music. (and a cup of Hazelnut coffee. (Ive been in a grumpy mood this week too 🙁 )
a bubble bath always helps (but to be real, I like a new copy of a tabloid magazine in there too). We have the same rainboots, but mine are red! eat something fatty, no creative work today, and just color. Maybe your brain needs a break and your smile will return shortly.
this weather really gets to my moods. i’ve felt a little “down” or “grumpy” this week too. i did hear somewhere that our heads can’t comprehend stress and frustration at the same time that it comprehends thankfulness. there’ve been actual tests done. so i try and make a list of all the things i’m thankful for in my life and it’s an instant pick me up! of course i throw in some chocolate for good measure. 🙂
Man I wish I knew. I have been kind-of grumpy the last couple days. Actually, I think if I cleaned my house I would feel better. I’m pretty sure this overwhelming mess is the source of my grumpiness. I think I’ll just start cleaning and see what happens. Hope you feel better.

A nice big bowl of sweet cereal, tea and a snuggle nap with my son. Its the only thing that works for me.
Cranking up some funky 70s-era Stevie Wonder and dancing like there’s nobody watching (there usually isn’t, except for a befuddled 4 year old).
All about the chocolate:) Loving the polka dot boots, by the way!
Coffee (period). It swings my mood into the right direction, usually.
I have those boots!

Feel better.
I read your blog.
The only thing that gets me out of the grumps is to just go to bed early that night and hope for the best the next morning!
make my children laugh (not easy when grumpy) but the sound of their laughter fills my heart everytime. Blessings galore!
I read and nap or sit in the sun.
Right now I am in a good mood because I survived the Tornadoes in Oklahoma while visiting and made it home safely yesterday. 🙂
It kind of changes your perspective on things.

Put on my new Lisa Leonard necklace that reminds me I AM BLESSED!
Oh, I forgot to share my pick-me-up…
I love to pull out one of Ina Garten’s fabulous cookbooks and bake something tasty!
I love Angela G.’s idea…I might steal that one.
An episode of scrubs and a bowl of ice cream!

Retail therapy!! Love the boots!
I get into my pj’s and take a nap with my baby, Sammy. He’s a black lab mix.Loves me unconditionally. How could I be grumpy with him?
I send cards to people I haven’t spoken to in a while…somehow re-connecting always makes me feel better!
I have those polka dot boots! 🙂
If you look at my post today, I did one on 2 sites that always make me laugh. Laughing seems to bust me out of my bad moods pretty fast!!

I make soap. For hours and hours. Then I sleep
A hot shower with some music playing, get into comfy sweats and a tank top, some kind of junk food, a show on tivo while laying in bed.

Oh my!!! If my kid see those boots I’ll have a huge problem! lol…
How fun pics!
Ice cream seems to do the trick for me. Or a nap, but ice cream is more accessible 🙂
