it is very difficult to explain to a four year how is brother is older than him. yes, he is half your size, doesn’t use words, doesn’t use the potty, and in many ways looks and acts like a toddler but he is still your big brother. we try to explain that david grows more slowly and learns differently, but a child so young can’t wrap his mind around these facts. that’s ok, around here david is just david. he is a little man. in some ways growing and changing everyday and in other ways still my baby. david will be six this july and i can hardly believe it myself!
Hello folks! My name is Abigail, I’m two years old and I live in France. I love your family, and I must confess, I reckon the Mom of your household sounds as Zany and of-the-wall as the Mama of this household. I’ve taken a shine to your blog and I think Mama is hyperlinking it to mine. Not, of course, that deep down, this has ANYTHING to do with gorgeous jewellery ….
Speak soon!
Abigail
Your boys are so adorable. I am so touched, I have a little brother that is 20 years younger than me, he just turned six and he was born with down syndrome and he also had some other things wrong as he grew and now he doesn’t talk, or walk and it is really hard for my mom to explain that to my little sister that is seven. He is our little angel. God bless your family!
I also learned about Cdls too. Glad you are a positive influences for mothers of Cdls. Not only to the mothers, it also taught us, too. While I am dealing with my Autistic kid, I have learned about Cdls.
I bet you realized David is special. I learned the same thing about my son, Ryan. No wonder why they call Special Education kids! 🙂
The size or age does not matter at all. The love is there ! 🙂 Your son is about the same age as my younger son, Ryan too. He just turned to six last Saturday (Mother’s Day for Mexican culture). It makes them two months apart.
Continue to give David and Matty lots of hugs. That makes you a very good mom 🙂
he is just so adorable. i love his hair, grown out and messy! my ten year old’s hair is so straight, and he desperately wants the ‘messy’ look that mason and david can pull off with no problem LOL!
although mason is only 6 months, it has been equally challenging telling jaiden about cdls. it has been hard for him to grasp. the hardest part is the fact that our little angels look so much alike. in a way it bothers him that so many other babies look so much like his baby brother…sometimes i forget that he is still very young and i just can’t assume that it all sinks in with little explanation.
lisa, you inpsire me. david inspires me, matty inspires me. i feel as though i always have a lump in my throat when i visit your page. i am so glad that you share your beautiful family with the rest of us through your blog. you have given me so much hope that life can and will be as normal as i make it.
BIG HUGS to you and your boys!!
David is so cute!
We’re going to have a similar experience one day with the little brother that Ben is going to have. I think it’s pretty neat.
Matty and David will learn so much from each other.
I remember when he was born so well. In a way it seems so long ago and at the same time it’s hard to believe that he’s already (almost) six. Although he is little, his look has matured so much and I know his personality has too. I wish I could see him (and the rest of the Leonard’s) more often. Love you friend!
what a sweet picture of perfectly sized david. that must be hard for matty to wrap his mind around. luckily, love doesn’t really have a size! 🙂
this is a beautiful photo. i miss you friend.
so big and so little and just right!
David is the most precious little boy….I am so proud of how you love both of your kiddos exactly where they are!! They are both perfect.
Blessings,
Lindsey
You are great. Was looking at photographs that Jessica Claire had taken of the Lawrenson Family and I noticed that the lovely Trisha is wearing a Lise Leonard necklace, you are amazing.
Love your work en alles (that means “everything”) in Afrikaans.
