you’re so gorgeous, lisa! 🙂
for me today is a day to pick my eldest daughter up from school after her first week at school! EEK! I also spent this morning consoling another mum whose daughter cries all the time about school – so we had much cuppas and biscuits! Then preparation for a husband going away for a week to India (we live in the UK) for work, the first time left on my own with both our girls! double eek!
this is such a cute post, lisa.
i miss you so much.
yes, let me try…
to wake up in a good mood! grab my baby girls and go back to bed!
enjoy some tea with milk and honey mmmm
play a little tune on the piano while the girls play and husband shaves
swinging under the tree….lunchtime and naps yay!!!
snacks and sidewalk chalkin dinner and wall e break out madi’s new fav book corduroy and then cross my fingers a couple little ladys go to bed at the same time!
Its nice to see you smiling! Have a great day!
My day looked like navigating through a storm of a one year old dropping to one nap a day, and an almost three year old giving up naps!! 🙂 Yours looks a lot better!
Love the self portraits!
Hi Lisa,
I’m so excited to see bits of your life. We’ve always known what a gift you have. Thank you for sharing!
Gina (Angulo) Dayton
ps…our biola days were some …not all…but the best years werent they??? maybe a bff necklace for adults??
Ick, I went to the dentist too.
But for me, today is a good day to wear my new Lisa Leonard necklace, a gift from my co-workers. It’s the necklace with the bird and the cage. Love it!
to discover your blog! and i thought this last 30 minutes of work was going to be a total waste!
Hello! I’ve been following your blog for over a year and have been too shy to comment. Today is a new day and I finally write something to you! 🙂
Today was the first day of daycare for my daughter. I was an emotional wreck but am glad we both had the strength to get through the day (husband said I was a bigger cry baby than she was ;))
Love the photos and your posts. Can’t wait to comment some more!
Today is a good day to let the kids wash all of their Little People in the sink with wash cloths, cups and probably all of my soap if it will keep them from fighting and make everyone HAPPY. And water balloons later on if said children nap like they are supposed to today-it is almost Fall after all. Love your blog and am so happy I stumbled upon it.
Apparently it’s a good day for fantasy football…….My son has me so excited for the kickoff of NFL!
Shiela!!!! We need to get coffee!!!!!
Oh Lori! That sounds stressful. Keep me updated. xo
I’m being a SUPERHERO for my son Andrew. He has special needs and things are going terrible at school and with the district. Have to get all the paperwork ready today since we are heading to the attorney’s office. Wish us luck. — Lisa, you are a true inspiration.

Wow- busy day!
BeautifuL self portraits!!!
For me… A walk around laguna lake with my new roommate Lindsay, down to the beach to read my Everyday with Rachael Ray Magazine, and maybe an Old Town Salad from Natural Cafe for lunch or dinner! I’m excited to be back in SLO. Hope to see you soon!
*Thursday…house cleaning. maybe I’ll just settle for getting the kitchen and bathroom done.
*sort through girls’ clothes – Evie’s home sick so it’s a good day for that.
*clear off the dining table (when exactly did it become my office??) and put something pretty and fallesque on it.
*and if there’s still time after that, I’ll scrapbook. My poor scrapbook – always on the bottom of the list.
It’s sunny this morning!!
~Heather
Its raining here in San Antonio. Not complaining though; we really needed it. We’re just going to spend the day inside and relish the fact that we don’t have anywhere to go (until 6 but that feels like an eternity away!).
Its a great feeling when you have an appliance that you really want to replace but feel bad replacing because its still working and it finally gives out. That happened to our washer/dryer and we actually were able to get ourselves a very set (and a great deal too!).
And you know what…its ok to yell and get frustrated. We all have those days.
I just found your blog through Bring the Rain and I just have to say that from one mom of a child with a disability (she’s in Heaven now) to another, YOU ARE A SUPERHERO. Nothing taught me more about my own strength than mothering my precious Emma for nine wonderful years. She made me a superhero. Enjoy your super powers today!!
Gen — that’s awesome!!! I’m so happy for your friends, I can only imagine the wonderful time you’ll have listening to their story and the trip details, and meeting their chosen child!
Middle child missed the bus this morning, had to drive him, made me late for work… but it was a great opportunity to remind ourselves to be more vigilant about being ready on time, so thank you God for that! In the end, I wasn’t late, well, I would have been, but I took the day off, because I have an eyeball on fire — pink eye, ugh. I got that cat-nap I craved this morning after all :o)
Tomorrow, I’ll have a great day again. My oldest turns 13, so I will celebrate not only him, but 13 of the best years of my life — being a mom.
It’s a great day, God’s mercies are new each morning, and today was no exception :o)
Dropping my oldest off for his second day of 8th grade — then, coming home and to make pancakes and eggs for my baby……….she has a big day today — it’s the first day of Kindergarten!!! Then once she is safely with her AWESOME teacher — I’ll have a cry – I can’t believe she is going to school….It’s going to be an amazing day:)
Hi Lisa…I do just love your blog! You have so many gifts…I love how you capture so much feeling in your pictures. Do you ever have one of those days where you wake up feeling like you need to organize your whole life in one day? That’s me today. I’m gonna try to be a super hero today (in more ways than one). Have a great day 🙂 xoxo.
I really dislike colds! I hope David feels better soon.
We started school this week too and it is going well! But today is a rush to pick up older son and then get home within 15 minutes of school ending for the little boy’s therapy session! AHHH! We’ll see how this goes. And we are supposed to do this every thursday…
Have a great day!
How inspiring!! I want to be a super hero!!! For me, today is a good day to pay some bills that are due, to hit the post office with some mail that needs to go, to visit my mother-in-law’s doctor’s office to drop off some forms for her, to make a delicious pot roast for our evening meal, to drop my son at University a hello email, to send healing wishes to a friend who just had surgery, to find some moments to read from the book I started the other day, to begin to write my thoughts for the zine I want to produce…and that’s just this morning!! And now, to get a second cup of coffee myself, because I agree…every day’s a good day to do that!
I’m going to visit a sweet friend who just came home from Ethiopia with the newest addition to her family…a sweet little boy! I can’t wait to meet him & hear about the trip she & her husband took! It’s going to be a good day…
