much of my weekend was spent working or laying on the couch feeling crummy, but sunday afternoon we headed outside and it was great. first we went to the new bob’s big boy for seriously mediocre burgers and seriously delicious sundaes. we used to eat at bob’s big boy on road trips as a kid. brings back so many memories!

then we went out to morro rock for a a bit. the sun broke through the clouds and the seagulls were flying all around us because some people had brought food for them. it was crazy and really beautiful with the sunlight behind. oh and so cold! (well, 55 degrees).

then back home to warm up and play a few games. and drink some hot chocolate (of course!).

we’re really into candyland around here. and slapjack (thanks auntie ellen!). the boys are getting the game hungry hippos for christmas–that will be hilarious.

we have a rule in our house that candyland, MUST be played with real candy!
candy is placed on candy stops, and there is a jack-pot of candy at the end for the winner 9it’s times like these we’re lucky gramps is a dentist)
when i give the game as a gift i make sure to include it with candy.

Weather here in Southern Alberta, Canada is -31C. COLD for this time of year, we usually get those temps in Mid-Feb to Mid-March. Friday I woke to a Chinook, about 10C, very unusual for this time of year. When I went on my lunch I could not find my car. We had a MAJOR snow storm. About 8 inches of snow in our little town and very chilly temps. It took me 3 hours just to shovel the front walk and driveway. I haven’t even started on the back yet 🙁 Keep warm and happy holidays to your gorgeous family.
We are also in southern Cal and are *thrilled* to be getting cooler temps and even some rain. Hooray! Your Sunday looks fantastic and a nice reminder to get out of the house and its normal routines. I’ve been meaning to ask, what recipe do you use for hot cocoa? I’m looking for one.
POURED rain much of the day Saturday but cleared up in time for our local boat parade Saturday night… sat outside FREEZING to watch it (55 also! Hey for southern FL that is cold!)
Also very into Candyland around here lately… love playing games with my daughter that I played as a child. She is gettng Junior Monopoly for Christmas… she loves the regular version but mom & dad can’t hold out that long!

It got down to 19 degrees here in Central Texas early in the weekend. It was beyond COLD for Texas.
My boys are getting Hungry Hungry Hippo for Christmas as well. They are 3.5.
Have you tried the Elefun game? Our boys seem to love chasing those butterfiles. We’ll have to try CandyLand soon.
It was cold, a little rainy here and there…but I was stuck inside the hospital, working….can’t wait til my sister sees the matching large link bracelets we are getting for Christmas! She’ll flip!
It is 29 degrees (at 1 p.m.) here in the Pacific Northwest. My house is old and not well insulated so even inside it’s pretty chilly.
We had a very Christmasy weekend. We went to my daughter’s Kindergarten Christmas program on Friday night. Saturday night we went to our City Hall Christmas Tree Lighting, and Sunday I wrote our Christmas Letter and we got our tree put up & decorated.
Felt strange to take my daughter to school today….seemed like it should be Christmas break.
Soo cute! Big Boy and David could be twins 😉 Or brothers at least.

8 degrees this morning with a wind chill of -4. Lots of snow supposed to arrive tomorrow. 55 is warm around here. Are you ready for it? I loved Bob’s Big Boy. I didn’t know they were still around.
Snowing!!!!! A good 6 inches or so. And in the 40’s. Every time I walk by a window, I’m surprised by all the snow on the ground. Guess we’re not in CA anymore, Toto…
It was cold here in Ct but not too bad. Like in the 40’s I would say. We decorated our house outside this weekend and walked the beach alittle and just say by a toasty fire. Love your shoes,

I had to laugh at your 55 degrees comment too! We got our Christmas tree this past weekend (a family tradition of searching in the wood and chopping down our own) it was 17 degrees here. We picked one out very hastily (because we were freezing) I have a special “crooked” tree this year haha! p.s. can you tell me why your sister doesn’t post anymore (I loved Flip Flops & Applesauce) what is she up to?

55 degrees is like a heat wave here in Massachusetts this time of year! Lol… I just bought Candyland for my cousin’s daughter for Christmas because at 3, she doesn’t have it yet!! I hope she’ll like it just as much as your family does. 🙂

cold and a little bit of snow here in minnesota. it think it’s in the teens, i stepped out for a moment to get the kiddos on the bus this morning, but plan to spend most of the day inside . . . cleaning . . . fun, huh?
We are at 12 degrees right now with about an inch of snow on the ground. We are not supposed to go above freezing all week! BRRRRRRR!

Frigid barely begins to describe the temperature here in Southern Alberta. It is -40F this morning with the wind chill! I was outside yesterday attempting to cover the shrubs with some snow in hopes of getting them through this cold spell alive!!
