there are little bits of happiness everywhere.
just waiting to be noticed.
and since i wouldn’t want to overlook them,
i’ve been trying to SEE
and capture those little bits of happiness.
and sometimes it’s so easy.
and sometimes it feels really hard.
* * *
do you see a random bit of happiness around you?
while on vacation at Cape Cod:
*my son finding hermit crabs in the bay
*napping in our camper
*sitting around the campfire roasting marsh mellows – to perfection!
*collecting rocks & seashells to bring back home…
Random bits of happiness~
playing indoor punch balloon volleyball until my legs hurt
scratching Nate’s back until i fell asleep
coming downstairs to my honey smiling
It’s all about grandbaby over here. And I have found thousands of little bits of happiness since she arrived.
Making my own blog button!
Surviving my first {and possibly my last} yoga class.
Black bean and chicken soup. YUMMY! {even the kids ate it!}
My schnauzer Piper after having a bath, she attacks the towel.
My wedding ring after being cleaned…OOH sparkle-ly.
getting together with dear friends.
Random happiness:
Middle of winter, so all downhill till Spring!
Sun shining
Less frost this morning
Benjamin bunny trying to get ducks’ attention as they run past
Birds hunting for worms in less frozen ground
Pussycat sitting by fire looking VERY cute!
My hair product is controlling my curls (for at least one minute!)
Smiles…
My two dachshunds “Sophie & Lucy” give me little tidbits of happiness every day. How precious they looked this morning laying on their blanket on my bed, covered with another blanket and all you could see was two little wet noses……. Now that’s sweet!
This year I made it a New Year’s resolution to find at least one moment of exquisite beauty every day. It shouldn’t be that hard because it’s everywhere if we just open our eyes, but it’s so easy to let the stresses of every day life, the need to hurry through our routines and sometimes a lack of sleep blind us. Thanks for the reminder to open my eyes!
love your pictures! my random bits of happiness were cooking for my family and friends Sunday night, playing fetch with my Boston Terrier this morning when I should have been getting ready for work, and the little rain drops that fell for a few minutes while I was at lunch today…
wonderful post…thanks for sharing
Yep! in spending some time at a swimming hole with the kidlets (you can see on the header of my blog) and in water droplets: http://merriemelody.blogspot.com/2010/07/water-droplets.html 🙂
the picture of those tiles! mmmmmm, painted tile always makes me swoon.
today, my random bits are my little girl wearing the top I made and looking even cuter than I imagined.
Baby boy smirking after he nurses.
Candles on a rainy day
The smell of a fresh pot of coffee.
My new Turkish cookbook “Turquoise” is bringing me such joy these days. The photos and stories make me feel like I am right back in the little Turkish neighborhood I lived in for 4 years. Such lovely people, such delicious food, and a life that moved so much slower than the one I live now.
my silly dog tilting her head to the side when i talk to her.
my old man dog lifting his head from a nap with his lip stuck up on his teeth on one side
my 8 year old daughter doing the same dorky dances that i do to get a laugh
