A visit to grandmothers meant a meal with garden canned vegetables and a dessert which included delicious preserved berries. Our farewell embrace was sealed with a mason jar of homemade raspberry jelly, to tide us over until the next trip.

  165. Well I’ve never left a comment before but I so love this necklace.
I am not a collector really of much and can’t say that I use mason jars all that often. What I love about this necklace is the idea of collecting something so special. When I see the mason jar full of hearts it makes me think of Jesus and all the blessings he has given me. So if I could collect anything in a mason jar it would be all the blessings I’ve received throughout my life.
I really do love your work and the thought you put into it and the uniqueness of it. I love that God created some people to be so creative because I’m just not wired that way. You have a wonderful gift, thanks for sharing it.

  178. I use them to store little sayings I’ve written on tiny pieces of paper and they say things like; “you are special” “I love you” “You make me smile””you make my heart so happy” “you are beautiful” and many, many more…and my kids grab a saying every day to start or end their day.

  184. Althought I already commented on how I use mine for iced tea, I wondered if you had ever thought of putting/creating lightning bugs into the jar for your jewelry? 187. I also use mason jars for storing dry ingredients such as lentils, beans, oats. I like to tape off a little area and spray paint with chalkboard paint to label.

  188. They are great for flowers, making salad dressings, and displaying fun stuff (I have one full of bird eggs, one full of shells, and one full of dried flowers). And for capturing lightning bugs…but don’t forget to poke holes in the lid!

  189. And, also I have one in my kitchen filled with straws for the kids.. Thanks for the chance to win a necklace!

  195. I love to use them as drinking glasses filled with iced tea or lemonade! I love to hear the ice clink in the glass. There’s nothing more southern!

  196. My children’s grandma Georgia always kept buttons in a mason jar. When the grandkids would visit she would bring out the buttons & give the kids a quilting needle with thread & the the kids would make bracelets & necklaces with the buttons. When grandma passed she gave the jar of buttons to my oldest daughter. To my daughter this is the dearest & most precious gift she has ever received. So I too wish to fill a mason jar full of buttons for my grandchildren to remind them of me & all the times we made jewelry.

It is a great way to be creative and to help the truly helpless.
