it’s wednesday and i’m linking up with lindsey for some fashion inspiration!
i got this denim top from chicos. i never shop chicos but i couldn’t find a denim top anywhere and i found this one online. it’s lightweight and super comfy. i know it’s going to be a summer favorite. skirt, t-shirt, both forever 21. flip flops, old navy
i wore it again, tucked in with a floral skirt {local boutique}. belt, banana republic. flip flops, old navy. molded heart bracelet, sun droplet necklace, both from my shop.
today’s very important question… if you are going to spend an afternoon relaxing at the beach or on a sipping iced tea on a lounge chair, what do you want to have for reading material?
Love love love long skirts!!! Sent over by LMM. This is the coolest blog. Lots of eye candy. 🙂
I love that whole outfit! you look great!!! I found you from LMM….love your blog!
i tried on that skirt at forever 21 this weekend – ha!
love the second skirt… and the denim top from Chico’s is also cutie-patootie!!!
a pile of library books for the cabin =
“Mozart’s Ghost” by Julia Cameron (check out her website http://www.thestistsway.com)
“The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake” by Aimee Bender
“Imperfect Birds” by Anne Lamott
I’m reading How Fargo of You by Marc de Celle. I was born and raised there and missing it while I’m reading the book.
I’m a magazine junkie girl. I love Real Simple, In Style, Vanity Fair, Atomic Ranch, Los Angeles Magazine, Rolling Stone, the weekly tabloids.
Hi Lisa, I would have to have a heart-stoppingly lovely romance novel (I draw the line at Mills and Boon though, giggle) that would take me away into another world of romance and flowers! xxx
a cookbook….with pictures. I love cooking!
It’s the first time I read your blog..I’m hispanic but I like all the things in your blog..God continue blessing your mind to create beautiful things..
Magazines that are in a pile awaiting my eyes! Sunset, Real Simple, etc, etc.!
A good book…two recent favorites i clude “Majo”r Pettigrew’s Last Stand” by Helen Simonson and Cutting for Stone” by Abraham Verghese
probably the book i’d have is either a Dresden Files or Stephanie Plum series books. 🙂
hi lisa! i just happened to be on the beach last week and i read “crazy love” and it was great!! i think i could re-read it year after year. good stuff:) your outfits are so cute!!
Every week I come over and see what you are wearing and I just have to say that you are a beautiful person! You just have this natural beauty!!
Love both your outfits!
For that kind of reading, I’d probably go for a food-related magazine, a Jodi Piccoult book, or the book I just picked up- Tina Fey’s Bossy Pants.
Architectural Digest all the way baby! 🙂
Love the way you remixed that top!
Ask the Duplex
A Girl Named Zippy by Haven Kimmel
um, ok. I think you are fabulous, and I love both outfits and I think they fit you just fine and are flattering as well.
Reading material: Nicholas Sparks’ new book, I bought it and am like 2 chapters in – I bought it the week it came out. Having two small kids makes it hard to read. 😉 HA!
If I’m lucky enough to be at the beach..I’m too busy taking it all in…No reading there. I’m a Real Simple or Coastal Living girl. Love the outfits.
Cute outfit! I think in a situation like that, a magazine would be the way to go. Light reading!
I love flipping through magazines!
Love the denim and Floral. I’m with Melissa lots of magazines and Jean Auel’s last book from her earth children series.
Magazines. I love Real Simple, Sunset, InStyle, and [hate to admit it] Martha Stewart. Plus I just got married, so I still have a ton of wedding magazines that I still look through.
I would have my kindle loaded with Janet Evanovich’s new Stephanie Plum novel, Smokin’ Seventeen.
I recently got back into One Thousand Gifts. Id started it months ago when I first bought it but just couldnt stay with it. Now is obviously the right time for me to read it; its pertaining to “To every thing there is a season…” 🙂
xo
I would definitely take the book I am 3/4 through… ‘These is my Words’. It is amazing!
OK, your adorable, but the first outfil looks too big, and doesn’t flatter you at all. OK, I don’t mean to be mean-just a “girlfriend” comment.
hi penny. it was a casual day of play with the kiddos–just summery and relaxed.
I just asked all my friends the same question. Everyone said, The Help. I’m on my way to pick up a copy and then off to the family cabin. 🙂
Love your outfits today! The denim shirt is great. As for reading material … I love to gather all my paper art magazines by Stampington and Co. and head out to the backyard.
Chick lit – I love any book with a funny, strong female lead!
You are the skirt queen, Lisa! 🙂 And I really like the color on the denim top… it’s perfect! 🙂
Love the denim top – so classic. My reading material is O, The Oprah magazine or Real Simple magazine.
Cute! I’m inspired to go find a good wide belt.
barbara delinsky is my new favorite – a light read (perfect for the beach) but also makes you think a little.
love the floral print skirt!
give me the trashy gossipy magazines! makes my life feel so much more normal!
I just finished Water for Elephants… it was awesome!
Your outfits make me feel like I really need to step it up! Need a fashion sponsor:) Hope people will be reading Good Enough Is the New Perfect this summer! Next on my list is Torn by Samantha Parent.
Love the denim shirt tucked with the long skirt!
Love that B&W skirt! So cute!
Love your outfits! I was actually so inspired by your cute hair that I got mine cut this week. Today is the first time I’m participating in WIWW, but it’s so much fun. That floral skirt is beautiful.
