You know what I love even more than a good sweater, sweater weather AND a good sweater! This is a pretty sweet sweater and we’ve been having gloomy, chilly weather which is making me all kind of happy. It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.
So I went to the doctor yesterday and I’ve gained 9 pounds. I started working out a couple months ago and she said it’s probably just muscle gain {she’s so sweet ;)} I think I need to cut back on carbs a bit. I can tell I’ve gained a few pounds but mostly, I feel really great. It’s real life, right?
This sweater is so soft. And the polka dot button up underneath was a thrift store find. I cut off the sleeves because when I layer sweaters over tops, I feel like I’m suffocating. So cutting on the sleeves makes me feel more comfortable–and since it was a thrift find, I didn’t feel bad at all!
These jeans and boots are just. so. easy. They’re my go-to-everyday-pieces.
And of course a good bag to hold lots of crap, I mean, important stuff.
Outfit details: Sweater, Old Navy {on SALE here} Jeans, Big Star via Zappos. {similar here}. Boots, Frye via Zappos. Polka dot top, thrifted. Bag, H&M {similar here}. Bracelets, My shop.
You look wonderful and don’t change a thing. Enjoy life and stay healthy. That is all that matters.
Thanks for the great idea about cutting off the arms on the long shelve shirt. I stay away from wearing long shirts under sweaters due to just to much bulk and It over heats me:) Do you leave shirt as is after you cut off shelves or do you have to mend? And do not worry about your weight its a number more important you feel good and look beautiful. Great fashion sense and you are always smiling:) Have a great day. BlessingS
You look great and I just love that you cut the sleeves off! I don’t get hot but don’t like the bulky feel. Great idea!
When I started working out, I gained a couple of pounds. Feeling great is so wonderful though that I just let it slide. 🙂
9 lbs. I went to the doctor in August and had gained 9 lbs. To me it was the weirdest number! Also eye-opening that at age 43, pounds come on so much easier. Shoot. But it also wasn’t difficult to take off. Moving a little more and a few less carbs. I hear ya, girl!
Perfect sweater indeed! I love how you styled it too. The boots is fab!!
Checking your look from the linkup. I hope you can swing by my blog too, or connect on social media if you want? Either way, I’d love to hear from you. xo

Well, yes, what a cleaver idea about cutting out the sleeves of a thrift find shirt. Love it!
Love your look from top to bottom!
that is brilliant! I feel overheated too…I should totally chop things.

The fact that you can gain a few pounds and not fret over it makes me love you even more. Because, you’re right, it IS real life. I LOVE carbs! I also love those Frye boots. You gave me the idea to cut off sleeves when layering a few posts ago. Brilliant! xo
That’s a great idea! I will be looking for shirts just so I can cut off the sleeves to wear under sweaters. I’m hot-natured and have to wear light sweaters (if any at all) so this may be the way to wear more sweaters. Thanks!
