my mom was in town a couple weeks ago {come back mom, we love having you here!} and she wanted to decoupage pumpkins. we were inspired by country living magazine. also, check out this darling post on decoupage pumpkins {also inspired by country living!}
we used fake pumpkins from michaels and modge podge, plaid napkins, and toile and floral wrapping paper. using modge podge on both sides of the wrapping paper helped to soften it up and adhere to the pumpkins better.
once covered completely, they needed a few hours to dry. so easy!
they found a home on my mantel alongside some gathered branches, real pumpkins and books.
now the fireplace looks so pretty and fallish! as far as using the fireplace? well it’s supposed to be 94* here today, so i think we’ll wait a bit. what’s fall decor is inspiring you right now?
Your mom did a fabulous job! Love the mantel! Thank for the link to my pumpkins! Happy weekend!…hugs…Debbie

Lovely mantel, Lisa! What’s inspiring me now? Leaves! I can’t help myself – I’m picking them up every time I go for a walk. So pretty!
Cute, cute, cute! I may have to try that! I have a mantel and I never really think about decorating it. There is just sort of stuff that’s “there”. I think I’m going to have to give it a whirl, I’ve seen some lovely fall mantels and shelves on several blogs lately
Lisa,
Your fall mantel is totally fun!
Love the modge podge idea!
π Cheers,
Anna
Definitely lovely!!
I have little fall set up while we are in middle of project in family room.
{heart} Fall!!
looks amazing! i can’t wait to have a home of my own so i can put all of my Pinterest tips to use π
Your mom is adorable! I’m lucky to have a large county porch that we decorate for the seasons. For years Iβve wanted to do a pumpkin topiary project that was in Country Living magazine. Iβve had the page torn out and saved forever. Well β this year we did it and it turned out to be super easy. You need one very large pot, lots of dirt, three pumpkins that go from large to small and garland. We stacked the pumpkins and wrapped garland with twigs, leaves and mini pumpkins around the bottom of the first pumpkin to hide the dirt and in between the other two pumpkins. Simple, fast and poof youβre done. π
I took a rock hunting expedition down by the river with my son and we made the neatest little project with our treasures. It proudly sits atop my mantle now!

My sweetheart wants an apple pie, so pie I will make – even though it is too warm.
However, the humming birds are gone, so it must be fall!
Love your pumpkins! And your mom…what a cutie, and such great taste in jewelry!
Leaves and pumkins. There is so much you can do with leaves and I just love the colors. I put them on my table in a vase, I decorated a frame with them. Today I want to get some twigs and attach leaves to them with a string…let’s see how that works out π
