David was born full term at 4lb 2oz. We knew something was wrong but didn’t know what until he was born. The first sign was his small left hand with only two fingers. We touched that sweet hand and showed everyone who visited us. I didn’t want to hide it. I didn’t want to be ashamed of my beautiful baby. David wasn’t who I expected and it was my job to change my expectations.
Of course, we quickly fell in love with our feisty, adorable, determined baby. David has shown us what matters. He taught us that each person is valuable and worthy. David has taught me how to love deeply and purely.
