Last week I spotted an invitation on Facebook for a barn sale. While I’m always interested in some good vintage junking–I think I was even more curious to be able to see the inside of this barn. It’s located on Los Osos Valley Road and I used to drive by it every day when we lived in Los Osos. It’s an awesome pink-red color and totally charming. The barn didn’t disappoint and I even ended up with a few fun paintings!
How about some hellos for a brand new week?
Hello green fields, blue skies and spring making it’s way into our lives. And that’s just fine with me!
Hello standing outside. Wondering what’s inside. Hello treasures waiting to be uncovered.
Hello little white lights. Oh how I love little white lights.
Hello coffee can. The color is awesome. The brushes are awesome. The whole thing inspires me.
Hello dishes. I do not need more dishes. I need less dishes. But they are so pretty.
Hello memories. I had this lunchbox. I remember how strawberry shortcake smelled–do you?!
Hello old paintings. Texture, color and imagination.
Hello metal ceiling. I would love to hang out here on a rainy day. Of course I’d need a cup of cocoa and a cozy spot to hang out and read a book.
Hello picnic basket, waiting to be packed with fresh fruit, cheese and crackers and taken on an adventure.
Hello end of spring break. Hello back to school for the boys!
Hello blurry background. Can you see that tiny barn back there?
Hello creating. I’m working on designing some new things this week and that makes me happy.
Hello meetings and planning. Oh so many meetings and so much planning!
Hello April. What?! Seriously?!
Hello catching up with old friends who are visiting this week. Yay!
I still have my Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox just like that one – it houses my nail polish! And I can so remember the smell of the kisses she blew when you squeezed her belly. Ahh.
I had that lunchbox too.
My baby sister totally had that lunch box. I bought her all of those dolls…purple pie man s smelled so good hahaha crazy
I had that lunchbox, too!
I live in New Orleans (born & raised here too!) & we LOVE Cafe du Monde (my mom actually took my twins there last night)! That metal can now has me craving beignets! Thanks for the cool picture! 🙂
Ahhhhhh. Thank you for the pictures of rolling hills and green sprouting up (we lack both here in West Texas). Your views there are lovely and I’m thankful our summers afford our family the chance to see them.
Spring in SLO is the best 🙂 I don’t think anywhere is quite as pretty or serene. It’s been so fun reading your blog lately since I went to college and was in a Bible study with Jess and Sarah. It’s so fun to see them working with you now!
Mmmm….drinking in all those pictures, Lisa! This makes me want to start looking for barn sales. I live in NC…this should be easy, right? So, what are your plans for your new paintings?
What a fun barn to shop at! This weekend I went with MIL to the swap shop at her transfer station. It was FULL of treasures for free since it is a give and take place. I scored a really sweet vintage mug and a vintage Fisher Price parking garage for my son. It is the same one my husband grew up playing with!
I love that! Sounds like you found some little treasures!
I love barns! I wish our farm had a big ole barn on it. Oh well.
And I had and have that Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox. When I saw the photo I was going, “My lunchbox!! That’s my lunchbox!!!” 🙂 I loved Strawberry Shortcake and her friends. Hard to beat some of the “old” toys!
I wish we did too! How fun! xx
Spring Break comes to an end for us, too! But, what a great Spring Break it was! And, like I always say, you can’t get to summer break unless you go back after spring break, right?
I agree! xoxo
I love barn sales! Every year I go to Abbey’s(www.aestheticoutburst.com) here in New York and there is always so much to see that I have to keep making rounds…there’s something new every time I go around.
Oo that sounds lovely! xoxo
