It’s Monday and time to say hello to a brand new week. I’m sharing pictures from the weekend and some family time in Morro Bay at sunset. A few magical moments when the weather was warm, the sun was glowing and we were all content.Hello surfers. Were there any good waves?
Hello weighing the risks. I’m happy to hang out on the sand.
Hello happy David. We are trying a new stool softner. We’ve replaced Miralax with Lactulose {a new perscription} and he is so much more comfortable. Less cramping, less pain and more regular. For us, this is a huge life change and an improvement for David. It’s a cause for celebration!
Hello new glasses. Matthias also has a new perscription and he got some new specs. So handsome!
Hello cranes. One of my favorite birds.
Hello rock climbing. David was loving it!
Hello timer and setting my camera on a nearby rock to capture a moment. I love not knowing exactly what we’ll get.
Hello moment, captured and magical and reminding me that this moment is what I have. I want to live here and be present.
Hello family. I’m so thankful you’re mine!
Hello ‘King of the World!’ {his words}
Hello love. It’s a good thing.
Hello laundry. I’ve got some catching up to do.
Hello new recipe to try this week.
Hello haircut for Matthias {much needed!}
Hello photo shoot this week–so excited!
Hello dreaming of summer–this warm weather is making me wish for beach days and slow mornings.
Hello messy house–I need some motivation to change that!
Hello new week, it’s gonna be a good one, right?! What are you saying hello to this week? Link up or leave a comment with some hellos!
You have a beautiful family Lisa!
This is the first time I’ve ever visited your blog and your online shop, and your stuff is soo beautiful!
What inspired me more than your talent however, is your little David.
You see, your David is my Benjamin. My baby Ben (now two) has special needs, doesn’t grow at a “normal” rate, is low tone (hypotonic) and deaf. He has NUMEROUS other “unique” attributes. He is also on Lactulose for painful stool 🙁 I totally understand the joy of a happy relieved child, and the guilt, oh the guilt.
My boy is still having trouble even on lactulose. But I am hopeful he will get better. I am SO SO happy to see that your David feels good!
Anyway, I’m rambling on, all I wanted to say is that David reminds me so much of Ben. Ben’s can’t walk or sit alone yet, and we are in the process of getting him a wheelchair (or more exactly a pushchair) but my hope is to see him one day walking around like David. (I also have one another child, my sweet boy Noah). Anyway, i will def. follow you, thank you for putting yourself and your beautiful family “out there” to be an inspiration 🙂
Thank you for your kind words, Dorian! And for sharing your journey. David didn’t walk until he was 4–and what a happy day that was! Sending you and Ben a great big hug. xo
And looking at these photos – beautiful! There is nothing you should feel guilty about, Miss Lisa!
Hello wonderful photos!
Your positive and REAL outlook is the best!
I’m so happy David is happier. That problem can affect us all and it’s usually something we take for granted when all the plumbing is operating at prime efficiency.
Now, I should remember to put that in my Gratitude Journal Monday because I am grateful for that, for sure!

Love the surfer shot. Glad David is feeling better with the new goods. Love the beach.
I’m saying hello springtime.. http://songskatesang.typepad.com/songs_kate_sang/2012/04/springtime-in-scottsdale-az.html
Hi Lisa! Loving your outfit at the beach!
Hello to a crazy-busy week! Hello to Coldplay with my husband (our Christmas gift to one another months ago!), parent-teacher conferences, and my cousin’s impromptu wedding Friday morning. Hello to a blogger bake sale and dancing with my samba group (as monarchs!) in our local parade this Saturday. Hello to the zoo on Sunday. Then…goodbye to one heck of a busy week!
Fabulous pictures!
Hi Lisa,
I read every day but have never commented. We have a 15 yr old son with lots of special needs and were recently reminded of the importance of a good stool softener. We had been having weeks of poor sleep (that looked like bad behaviour) with all the problems that go with being a tired big boy. We’d tried a change in sleep meds with no good effect when I remembered a foster mother years ago telling me 90% of “these kid’s” problems can be solved by making sure they’re regular. We switched up the stool softener to something called PEG powder and had good sleep return within 2 nights. Good sleep every night now for almost 2 weeks, and most of the daytime behaviour settled better now too (not perfect, just better). I gotta remember this next time he’s out of sorts, for sure. Just had to share, cause the timing was so funny. Love your posts, love your outlook and photos!
Oh my goodness! I am so glad you thought of that. It’s hard being exhausted, and then dealing with behavior issues on top of that. Thank you for sharing! Sometimes it’s like trying to figure out a puzzle, isn’t it. xo L
I love it. Seriously. The whole post. It’s beautiful.

I had a rather unexpected sick birthday yesterday but I’m choosing gratitude over complaining(it just makes one feel worse anyway, right?)
Have a lovely week, Lisa!
What gorgeous pictures of a darling family!
We know the joy finding a good bowel cleanser can be over here too! Good to know about Lactulose. Glad to hear it is helping your sweet little guy.

Hello, Lisa!
It was a fabulous weekend in California, I agree! But now we’re all misty and gray again in SoCal. Oh well. Thanks for all the shots of Morro Bay, we’ll be heading up there this August for a small family reunion…renting a house just a couple blocks up from the beach. Any suggestions of good eats there?
Taco Temple on Hwy 1 is our absolute fave. And make sure to get dessert. Yum! We also love lolos mexican food {also on hwy 1} and duckies in Cayucos for burgers and fish. Have a great time! xoxo
Thanks, Lisa! Mmmm, I’m hungry for some tacos right now!
Hi Lisa! The beach looks wonderful!

What a lovely weekend! I spent mine decluttering and reorganizing, and that was phenomenal.
That is so inspiring. That’s what I should have been doing last weekend–instead of playing so much!

Happy, happy Monday!
Wow – Matthias sure does love his Mommy. So sweet!
I don’t remember reading anywhere about your sons reason for the need for Lactulose so if I’m off the mark here I apologize, but my own little guy suffered with encopresis for years (though now at almost 15 he seems to have outgrown it) and I can certainly sympathize! It really is so uncomfortable for those that suffer from it and finding the right treatment makes a world of difference.
Hi Colleen! David has a syndrome call CdLS {cdlsusa.org} and a big part of that is GI and feeding issues. And you’re right–it can be so unpleasant. We are grateful we’re finding some answers and he’s more comfortable. I’m praying it lasts. Hugs to you and you’re family!
Good Morning Lisa & your sweet family,
