Thought you guys should know what an encouragement you are…

Hi, I’m Traci in Virginia (Traci Wren), one of your necklace winners. Thank you so much for making me a necklace. I cannot begin to tell you how moved I am by your generosity and the comments left by the readers of your blog. In the midst of all that has happened, I am taking a final class to receive my teaching license in VA through the University of Va. I was working (struggling) on a paper this weekend when my sister told me to read the comments on your blog. I was blown away. It is so amazing to see the power of the internet and strangers express such kindness to one another. Reading the comments, I was a mess–but I appreciated each and every one.
Before my husband passed away he told me to make a list of a few things I would want for my birthday and Christmas. (My birthday is 4 days after he passed–I turned 40). One of your necklaces was on the list. I bought it for myself and there is an initial for myself, my husband and my two children. I wear it everyday and have received so many compliments and inquiries.
Thank you again your kindness. I will think of my sweet husband everytime I wear it.

  1. Do you think that we will have ‘name tags’ in heaven so we will know who we have touched, or been touched by, in word or deed during our lifetime? Lisa, I’ve been reading your blog for quite a while now and am drawn by your sweet spirit and genuine love for our God. Grace Church was my church home for forty yrs. and I am still attached to so many there. You are part of a great “family of believers.”

  2. Traci, I hope the little things like this new necklace can brighten your day a bit! Hold on, there are many bloggers who are thinking of you…hugs from Minnesota, Gail

  3. Traci, I am sorry for what you have been through. I hope you have lots of friends and family surrounding you. You seem to have many fans here. Lisa, you are an amazing person. I am glad to have met you!

  4. Lisa–I just knew your generosity towards any hurting person couldn’t be held back and I love that you ‘chose’ Traci to be a winner as well!! Thanks also for sharing her note with us all.

  8. Wow! This world really is amazing! So many ways to touch a life… someone you have never met yet can give so much postive energy and support.
I read somewhere about the power of prayer. In a blind study they showed that those people who were prayed for… even when they did not know it… improved faster than those who were not. Amazing!
Many postitive thoughts and prayers to you Traci! And many thanks for the connections Lisa!

  9. Hi Lisa,
    She is so deserving.

I live in VA and have a sneaking suspicion that she and I probably are not far from each other. I have 3 young children but am lucky to have my husband here with me to help. I am sure a person like Traci probably has loads of support from friends and family but I would like her to know that there are other people here in VA who are willing to lend a helping hand ANYTIME she needs one.
