first things first! our new hope necklace {finally!} in honor of breast cancer awareness month. 1″x1/2″ sterling pendant is hand-stamped with the word hope and strung with a hand-crafted, sterling ribbon from sterling chain. simple, beautiful and meaningful. so many of us have friends or family who have been touched by cancer. 10% of the proceeds go to the national breast cancer foundation during the month of october! you’ll find it here (and it’s on sale this weekend!!).

second, mr. pumpkin head is my idea of pumpkin carving. the boys loved it and it was mess free! we’ll probably carve some pumpkins closer to halloween–but this definitely gets us in the spirit!

and one more thing. matthias’ latest superhero drawing. name? super bat! super powers? he can make tornados come out of his chest, through his hands and he throws them at bad guys and they break into tiny pieces (his words). if i could pick a super power? the ability to do mounds of laundry with the snap of my finger…or maybe the power to maintain a positive attitude and not get grumpy (especially during the 4:30 lull when i think, ‘how much longer until daddy gets home?!’.

what super power would you choose??
Could your little man be any better at drawing superheros? Wowza!
If I could have any power today it would be to grant every woman happy and healthy pregnancies. This being said, I love the new necklace and I too love that there is no color so that it can symbolize all causes. Like Amber said, October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month. This necklace would be cute with a little pink or blue crystal hanging from it to symbolize the sex of the babe lost. It is a beautiful necklace with so much meaning.
Lisa, I applaud all that you do as an artist. I don’t think you will ever know how much your pieces touch people. You are so talented and giving.
What a great use for Mr. Potatoe head parts :0)! LOVE the necklace. My super power would be to have the ability to not need sleep! Then maybe everything could get done :0)!
I love your pumpkin face. Plus, I am totally digging your orange dishes, too.
Thank you so much for the beautiful new necklace! While you have created it in honor of Breast Cancer, I love that it is without color because I am always looking for something unique to symbolize my son’s battle with childhood cancer. I have placed this first on my christmas list with my family! Thank you for your awesome work!
Holly aka Hunter’s Mom – a proud survivor of childhood cancer!
I think you hit it on the head with the super power of maintaining a positive attitude. With dad working OT to get us out of debt, I feel like a single mother in the evenings but “this too, shall pass”, right? 🙂 What a beautiful necklace. I just lost a dear friend of mine to Triple Negative breast cancer that metastisized. It took her in a short 2yrs and left her 3 precious babies (8yrs, 5yrs, and 3yrs) with no momma to kiss them at night. 🙁 I think I’ll bookmark the page for that necklace and get to saving for it. Hope. That’s a powerful word!!!
October is also Pregnancy and Infant Loss month…do you have a necklace for that? I have wanted a necklace with infants feet and my child’s name and date on it. I always see the feet as indented in the piece, but raise would be pretty too. Just asking.
Hi Lisa! I love the pumpkin/new necklace! All photos u took is so lovely! =) I mailed today- a letter w check for the necklace I wanted. But I forgot to write down a size-i’d like 16 in. Thank you so much! Looking forward to get it soon! Happy weekend!
thanks for creating a lovely breast cancer awareness necklace,,,,we lost my grandmother to breast cancer about 2 1/2 years ago and my aunt was diagnosed in June. She had her first chemo treatment last week and is feeling ok so far. If I had some extra spending money right now I would get her one of your necklaces. I will keep them in mind though. Thanks for all you do. I think if I could choose a superpower it would be to fix other peoples problems…like cure cancer, feed the hungry,,,give shelter to the homeless,,,etc and i mean a huge spectrum not just the little bit i can do in my own backyard..i do what i can though…and the ability to make dinner appear on the table with the blink of an eye and magically have the house cleaned and laundry clean and put away would be great too haha
that necklace is so special !
my grandmother had breast cancer twice…the second time it took her from us, but that was after I got to spend 23 years with her…..
and I love mr. pumpkin head and the idea of NO mess….love it love it love it !!!
now a super power….I’d like to have the ability to make everyone say “excuse me” when they bump into me or my cart, rudely walk in front of me while I’m looking at something, pull out in front of me for no good reason, pull out a cell phone while I’m talking to them….so many things, and yet a little “excuse me” can make such a difference 🙂
oh and maybe the ability to have dinner magically appear on the kitchen table every night about 6pm….now that would really great !
The power I prefer is that he makes me smile 🙂 And today a smile is a big power I think
I love the new necklace and the pumpkin!
Love the new necklace!! I second Priscilla’s idea of a puzzle piece. I have a daughter on the autism spectrum, I’d get a puzzle piece in a heartbeat. Puzzles are neat, ASD or not!
I LOVE that drawing, it is absolutely beautiful… I’m not much of a fan of superheros (even though I have two boys), but that is a spectacular drawing. Great job, Matthias!
I can’t imagine topping your laundry superhero power, seriously… does laundry like, procreate in the laundry room? Feels like it does, eh? LOL If I couldn’t have your superpower (and you weren’t able to visit, oh, say, once a week or so and bring your superpower with you), I think my superpower would be to have the ability to instantly drill wells in third world country villages without clean drinking water. I’m already praying… now I need to put that prayer into action and make it happen.
Oooooh I’d be Elastia Girl from The Incredibles! Bend and twist in all sorts of concoctions! 😉
I would fly like an eagle so I could visit all my friends and family in faraway lands
oh, and my super power??? I would choose the power to be able to speak ALL languages fluently. This way I wouldn’t be spending my time learning a new one each time I moved somewhere new 🙂
The necklace is beautiful, and I LOOOOOVE Mr. Potato Head Pumpkin!!!! What a great idea 🙂
Ahhh – that 4:30 lull is awful. The sound of the garage opening is like heaven. I’m not sure who’s more excited — the baby, me or the dog!
April is Autism Awareness Month and I just got an email that the stats are now 1 in 91 (it was 1 in 150) How about a puzzle piece? A word doesn’t come to me now, but I’m sure you could think of one!
Oh, I would have to choose that magic power of ORGANIZATION that I seem to lack. A positive attitude would benefit me some days too! Love the drawing, that should be framed. So sweet!
I would like to be able to cure…
I’m not sure if it qualifies as a superpower, but I NEED MORE ARMS!!!!!!!!!!!
