a heart made whole

It’s Wednesday and I’m linking up with Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy for some fashion inspiration.

This week’s outfit is just plain fun. And this little necklace we just launched with our fall collection has stolen my heart–and yours, too! It’s one of our best sellers. Also I have a little secret to share about this outfit–so read on.

I’ve had these jeans and this striped tee for a couple years–but I sort of rediscovered them when I cleaned out my closet.

I love layering, don’t you? But when I layered this long sleeve denim top under the striped tee the arms were squishing and making me uncomfortable. So I took the denim top and cut off the sleeves. When I put the tops back on I felt happy. I’m pretty sure I’ll be layering this top a lot this winter–it’s so much more comfortable this way!

That belt was thrifted a few weeks ago and I love love love it. It was marked at $1.50 and the lady behind the counter explained it was supposed to be marked $2. She asked if I still wanted it. YES–a resounding yes. Best $2 I’ve spent lately.

And my little heart made whole necklace is such a sweet representation of a heart that is loved. It’s half dipped in 14k gold and half dipped in sterling silver–and completely lovely! You can read more about it here.

Outfit details: Red skinny jeans, Target. Striped tee, Gap. Denim top, Anthropologie. Booties, Target. Belt, Thrifted. Necklace, My shop.

Love and be loved–isn’t that what makes our hearts whole?

What is making your heart thankful today?

  1. I have also cut off the sleeves of layering pieces – makes them much less bulky and much MORE comfortable! You always look fabulous. Thanks for all you do! (think I’ll wear my navy striped t-shirt today!)

  2. Style question…do you think it’s okay to wear skinny jeans if you have big thighs and small ankles? I always feel like it would draw too much attention to my big thighs and waist area but I also want to be trendy. Thanks!
