While visiting with friends in Scotland, we hopped over to a nearby fishing village called Anstruther. I have to tell you, I think it’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen in the entire world. The sun was shining and the air was cold. We walked past farms with wheat fields and old churches. The sea was so beautiful. I loved it there!
We munched on fish and chips and sipped the best hot chocolate. I found a few vinctorian era watercolor paintings at an antique shop and Steve stumbled on Chamer’s birthplace–a theologian who he really respects. We spent time with dear friends and we saw a new part of the world. It was a magical day.
This weekend some friends are getting married. I’m hoping for at least one good nap too–I’m still getting back on the right time zone. What are your weekend plans?
Enjoy the wedding!
We are off to the other side of the state to visit friends and family.
I went to Scotland when I was 10 for two weeks over Christmas with my family. My step dad was spending his 2nd Christmas in a row there on his submarine. It was such a beautiful place, and the people were so warm. I have a wonderful piece of rose quartz still that I found on a hike up a mountain with my brother there. A prized possession! I loved all the sheep! Your pictures were a trip down memory lane. Thanks!
Thank you! I am glad that my pictures could bring back some good memories of your trip. You should try to go back sometime soon!
oh heavens. those pictures of the brothers. it just does me in.
Me too! I love them so much.
Gorgeous!! I’d love to visit there sometime.
I love the small Scots fishing fillages. We visited one when we were there in September. It was east of the Scottish Secret Bunker.
They are great right? I can’t wait to go back.
It looks like you had such a wonderful time! Love the 2 photos: your photo of your husband taking the photo and then your husband’s photo with David saluting. And look at the color (electric blue) of that steeple in the background. Also, the photo of the boys sitting on the steps, so precious, and that amazing shell wall. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Andrea! We sure did have a really nice time.
Beautiful photos!! Looks like the perfect trip. I may include a photo on my blog with credit to you and link to this page. Thanks for your amazing blog and talent.
No problem Gail! I’m excited to see the post.
Lisa,
By example, you’re helping me re-think how I post about our travels; I have this idea I’m supposed to explain everything, but you’ve let the pictures explain themselves with a little intro and closing. Brilliant :).
(I love the captures of Matty & David…brothers make me melt :).)
Oh! And this weekend we’re celebrating our 25th a few days early…in London! I “missed” you in England by just days :).
xo
Congratulations on your 25th anniversary! That’s so great that you get to spend it in London, I already miss that place so much. 🙂
