it’s so good to be back home.
yesterday i grocery shopped, did a load of laundry and made dinner.
i know, shocking! i was so proud.
since it’s so good to be home, i thought i’d share a few more pics as we continue to settle in.
all our bed linens and bedroom lamps are from tj maxx,
we just got one near us a few months ago and i love it!

some friends of ours found this old school chalkboard
and were kind enough to let us take it off their hands.
i can’t wait to hang it up. so fun!
*
*
above the fireplace i have a bunch of photos printed on stretched canvas
an old frame
a driftwood heart and a few seastars.
we are so thrilled to have a fireplace, since our last home didn’t have one.

i found this teenie tiny ocean painting at my favorite thrift store last week.
it’s about 3 inches wide.
it’s the best treasure i’ve found in quite a while.
love it.

i’ve noticed a definite ocean theme running though our home.
shells, driftwood, ocean paintings and lots of aqua with nuetrals.
do you have a theme running through your home?
Hi Lisa – love, love, love your website!! We too, have an ocean theme throughout our house – we are tried and true New Englanders displaced in the Midwest (for the past 6 years, b/c of hubby’s job). The ocean is just so peaceful – miss it immensely!!
Like the theme and style very much, very natural!
I wish you could help me pick out my bedding!
Everything looks so warm yet airy and fresh, what a lovely space to call home. You have great taste!
No theme. But I do love items that remind me of my childhood or my grandparents.
TJ Maxx? How do we live without it?
Glad you’re finding joy in the everyday! After all that God brought David thorugh this week–even the mundane routines are comforting. Your home is coming along beautifully!!
I describe my home theme as “picked it up in a foreign country”. I have collected many of my favorite home accessories while on trips abroad or as gifts from friends/family when they returned from trips.
everything looks perfectly charming! i love those lamps too!! i have gone & looked at them at least 5 times…i don’t need a lamp. sigh
except for during chirstmas time, i have all my sea inspired shells and other treasures out too
ps, the miniature painting is precious
Hi Lisa, I love your bedding too! The theme running through our home is sort of comfortable, elegant, country! Hard to describe. I recently painted the living room in a shade called ‘Manuka Honey’, it adds a lovely warm, golden glow to the room and links in with one of the colours in the gorgeous! upholstery we found for our two big three seater couches (sofas). I just adore our house! Hubby was used to pristine (soulless in my view) large houses and I’ve always loved sort of rustic, elegant country homes. I have never (and never will) liked new houses!! ugh ugh ugh.. I know I should never say never, but it’s true! Smiles..
Hi Lisa– Looks adorable. Was thinking about you today and wanted to know if you ever want to be my guest blogger on a Friday. I do Friday Arts every week. I don’t have a huge platform but I do live in SLO so some local folks could get exposed to your work. Take a look and let me know. Fun to follow a fellow Central Coaster. (o;
I want to go on vacation to your charming, relaxing home!
Our “theme” is neutrals with RED accents. Love it!!
Welcome home!
I am SO jealous you bought the lamp at TJ Maxx! I was eying it myself but never bit the bullet. I think it looks great! Also, where did you get the photos printed on canvas? Were the reasonably priced? I head Costco does them for cheap, but I’m not sure if they make them in small sizes.
I LOVE you’re bedding!!! I’m going to have to make a trip to TJ Maxx. It’s hard to find good bedding that i’m happy with and goes with my room! I love the color lime and sage green! I have some pictures of different “love” themes that i had printed off for a bridal shower, and i just absolutely love them, so i’m thinking about doing something with that on one wall, i’ll have to see how to tie that into the rest of my room! Love your displays!
you are so talented Lisa. never would have guessed TJ Maxx! and yes ocean theme – LOVE it!
Love the angle on you’re bedroom picture and th old chalk board is so cool!!!!
Ooo, where did you have the canvas done? I’ve been wanting to do that as a gift for my mom.
love your ocean theme! i have noticed that i have started adding lots of color to my usually neutral palette. loving the color red here lately!
Yes, my theme is called 8 & 5, which spells disaster area. Ha!
I don’t have a theme going here, but more of a constant color scheme. The outside of my home is blue-gray. The inside is going to be blue-chocolate brown. My kids picked various shades of blue for their bedrooms (even my daughter). My and my husband’s bedroom is a horrible shade of blue, it won’t get painted until we replace our bed. I love the chalkboard, so neat and vintage! 😉
I love you fireplace! 🙂
i saw the same lamps at t.j. maxx and considered blending them into the landscape of our home.
the theme of our home, hmmm… “us.” i think our home looks like us, like our little family. i think the style of our home is uniquely tailored to fit our families personalities. it can’t be duplicated, and can never be outdated, i love it, and it is my favorite place to be.
LOVE the peak at your bedroom. GORGEOUS!
So pretty….I especially love the mantel display!
Lisa, I just love your blog. I found you about a year ago, and have been hooked ever since! This is my first time posting a comment — I just had to tell you I’m so relieved that things went so well for David this week. What an amazing boy. You guys are such an inspirational and beautiful family. Although we don’t know each other, please know you are all in my prayers 🙂
On another note, I am in love with your teeny ocean painting, and am a little jealous that I didn’t find it myself! 🙂 I live near the coast in So. CA, but last week my husband and I took the kids to the central coast, and your sweet painting reminds me of our trip.
Love your new home photos…everything is just lovely. It’s amazing what you can find at TJ Maxx, Home Goods, and thrift stores!
Thank you for the beauty you share with us all every day…blessings to you and your family always!
Looks beautiful Lisa! So glad everything went well with David!!!! :o)
Our house is up on top of a mountain and we look down on treetops. I call it “the nest.” So we have a nest/bird theme.
Your home looks lovely Lisa. I love your tiny ocean painting too. My home is in transition at the moment as we repaint rooms but it definitely has a southwest theme. I have been looking for a cafe au lait color to paint several rooms and noticed your wall color looks very much like that. Do you know what paint color it is?
The theme in my house is hot pink! It has invaded most rooms in my home!
Everything is so pretty, Lisa! Looks like you are settling in just fine.
My theme is dirt and drywall dust. 😉
Pretty pictures Lisa,
Our theme in our house is ocean and beachy also, but we live almost on the beach here so it seems to fit. I love the light blues and aqua colors also.
Love your fireplace
deezie
love the ocean print! we are moving in in Cali and I need to blog about the new house soon… I have been screenprinting banners for my boy’s room and buying sarongs for curtains:)
